I just heard on TV that the risk of getting HIV from hetrosexual, vaginal sex without a condom was 1:10,000. Is that true?

What are the odds of contracting it if having sex with someone who already has it? i.e. Is there a slim chance you still won't contract it?

I believe it is definitely less than 100% chance to contract it.

and if you pee and wash your dick after sex, it must be reducing the risk.

No they aren't. The infection rate in the US is ~0.3% (there's no really reliable data on this, so the chance exists that the infection rate is somewhat higher). Assuming you're a man having sex with a straight woman who isn't a crackhead, the chance of your partner being infected is really slim.
If you don't have any stds yourself, and your dick isn't injured in any way, even the chance of getting the virus from fucking a hiv-positive person is slim.

Combine those two things, and it should be obvious that having unprotected sex with people whose status you don't know isn't all that dangerous.

It is very difficult for a man to get it from a women from vaginal sex.

One of my best friends has barebacked a few hundred (500+) of Cambodian, Thai and Chinese hookers and he just tested negative on both the PCR-DNA and Elise HIV test. So it must be hard as hell to get. I will also note that he NEVER does anal with them, only unprotected vaginal sex.

With that said, it will be some poor fuck who does it once that catches it. :(
