I think Pot causes Apathy...

and is bad for peoples lungs.....

I am re thinking my positions on weed...

I still think it should be legal, but I do think that it has serious downsides to it as well.:2 cents:

We just quit. It does decrease motivation, in my experience. I get much more done when I'm straight, but there is a downside to being straight, too...my stress level and patience are higher and lower, respectively.

dude, trust me I know the difference LOL

I do not smoke cigs, at all and my lungs are friggin packed LOL

you are either very niaeve, or just in denial if you truley think that weed smoking is not bad for your lungs LOL

Rich 09-25-2004 04:58 PM

It's definitely bad on the lungs if you smoke it, anything is... it's smoke, in your lungs. People who eat in or use vaporizers can get around that.

I don't think it causes apathy. It may bring it out in apathetic people but if you look at a lot of pot smokers throughout history many of them are far from apathetic. It also increases creativity.

Yes, that's really been backed up by a lot of long term medical testing. Err, actually no, it's hasn't been at all. I did see that in refer madness though, also it cases "incurable insanity".

Read the study Nixon had done on marijuana, it remains to this day the most expensive and extensive testing ever done on the plant.

yeah, I know it is a lesser of two evils type of thing, but I am going to the gym pretty regular ( I got to get in shape so when I see pimplepud I can box and still have oxygen LOL) so that is helping the seretonin levels and taking away those anxiety feelings....

sometimes I think weed causes more anxiety than it stops actually...

I am sorta doing a self evaluation on myself LOL

Royal Cash 09-25-2004 05:09 PM

doing the same thing each day always bring apathy :glugglug

Prozac and other SSRI drugs cause apathy, make you impotent, and could very well inflict long term brain damage. Should we ban them as well? Well, perhaps that's not a bad idea...

cluck 09-25-2004 11:48 PM

I've been on SSRI drugs for a while. Apathy isn't just a side effect, it's the desired effect.

Not to mention the damage caused from inhaling a super heated gas.

I just got finished posting this in another thread about depression.. it's fits here too, so I'm gonna do a cut and paste.. btw.. pot was my favorite drug of all time!

Quote:

Allow me to share a little something with you all..

Since the age of about 13 (I'm 54 now), I have been high on something. Pain killers the doctor gave me for cramps started the whole thing, then I went to alcohol, and all type's of other drugs, if it got you high, then I took it.

I quit all of this about 10 yrs ago.

I got one of the biggest surprises of my life after I quit.. all of a sudden I was happy.. for no reason.

I didn't know what to think, because I had never experienced this particular feeling before. I thought happiness was something you felt when you were high. It took me a long time to start feeling this way (weeks, maybe as long as a couple months)

I had slips now and then over the last 10 years.. especially when I would get pain medicine from the doctor for one thing or another.

One thing that became crystal clear to me was that drugs and alcohol surpressed the natural happy feeling I was supposed to be feeling all those years.

Every time I slipped it would become clearer and clearer to me that this was indeed the case.

There must be something in drugs that interfere with the normal brain processes.

The last 3 or 4 times I slipped, I took notice of how long it took for me to get back to normal.. on pain medicine, it took 3 days, and with alcohol, it took over a week.

The doctor had told me that the pain medicine wasn't addictive, which what I realise meant that I wouldn't have withdrawl symptoms.. maybe that's why it only took 3 days to get back to normal.

What I felt during the times I slipped and during the withdrawl time was a little depression, but more of a lack of interest in things. I didn't like losing this at all because this interest in things is what made my life so happy..

Anyone have any experiences like this?
