I see heroin addicts all the time when I go shopping in Glasgow. They beg for money and you know they are junkies coz they are thin, their faces all look the same because of the drugs.

I've never saw a fat heroin addict either.

Apart from those on the streets - yea, they can be "fat". It all depends on whether they are "active addicts". Once they have been on the shit - they are always addicts. Much the same as alcholism.

I know one woman who was deliberately injected with a load of heroin (as part of an assault) over 20 years ago. She was "hooked" because of this and took two years to wean her off it. Now she still considers herself to be still an addict, tho she never touched drugs for 20 something years.
