HELP !! HTML Question
I know this GFY is faster respond than ask jeeves, so please if you could help me solve this mystery? I have been through the HTML ten times !!!
Could somebody please take a look at the source HTML of my page and see if they can see something I am missing ??? In IE-based browsers, the center panel UNDERlaps the right navigation panel, and I cannot figure out why it is doing that ?? I've looked it over so much my head is going in circles now ... ANY help would be appreciated http://www.myfoneforum.com it prolly i something so miniscule and stoopid, but I can't find it !! :( |
you cannot mix percentages and pixel defined widths on a single table
in your case you tell table to be 100% wide and then have pixel widths for the columns inside - big no-no. -=-=- buttom line dont mix pixels and percentages in one table, go by all percernts or by all pixels of course you can have overall table sptil by percentages and then inside cells have pixel defined tables. hope this helps. btw in IE it looks messed up only at maximazed window, in a smaller browser window everything looks fine. |

Hahahaha
Anybody who meet me will know I do look a lot like Barney Rubble, and I have had that moniker since highschool :Graucho Thank you for your reply holograph Now my next question is, how would you write those tables then so that both side panels are 150px and so that the page is still collapsing at 800x600 resolution? I have made tables mixing pixels and % many times, but this is the first time I have problems. What way would you suggest would be better? Thank you again |
OK
I just make the table widths all percentages, and I still have the same problem, so I don't think that was the problem :( Anybody else would like to take a try? Thank you |

OK ... it is fixed now :D
Not until I was asked to copy and paste the source code to a friend, did I realise that somehow I had a stray <span="style14"> tag at the very beginning of my HTML, even before the document identifier :1orglaugh Thank you very much to everybody who tried helped me locate the problem! :thumbsup |
barney,
what program are you using to do the pages?? Most have a way to remove unused tags., Or you can try weblint.com I think that are still around. |
Thanks pronguy!
I do clean up my HTML (I use Dreamweaver as well as Edit Pad Pro) The tag was very much meant to be on the page (CSS style for my links). The problem was it appeared to be "drop and dragged" to that place. Soon as I saw it, I knew where it was from, and I moved it back, and everything is good in the world! :Graucho |
