Remember that our Miami Shores Campus cannot, and will not, serve as shelter for any commuter student. Also note that Barry University will remain closed until further notice, so be sure to check Barry's Web site at

Barry Announces Mandatory Evacuation
Due to the proximity and direction of Hurricane Jeanne, Barry University?s main campus in Miami Shores, FL has announced a mandatory evacuation of its residence halls beginning at 1 p.m. today [Saturday, September 25].
All resident students are REQUIRED to evacuate from their residence halls to one of two on-campus shelters, those being in Thompson Hall and the library. Barry?s Student Services staff will remain in the shelters for the duration of the storm. The university has adequate food and water for the sheltered students and staff.
Barry University will remain closed until further notice. This includes its main campus as well as other sites throughout Florida?s east coast, including:
All sites throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties
Boynton Beach
Fort Pierce
Melbourne
Merritt Island
Palm Beach Gardens
Treasure Coast
And Vero Beach.
Barry?s School of Law in Orlando will remain open until this evening, when its library closes at 6 and the campus closes at 7.
All Barry athletic and student activity events have also been canceled for the weekend.
