Okay, so why did whites not allow blacks around them (in busses, schools, etc)
My friend here says it's primarily ALL because of their personal hygiene issues. lol. That black people are naturally dirty and stinky, something they really couldn't help much because of their skin and such. So this is the reason whites had such a hard time with allowing them in the same schools, near us in the busses, etc etc...
I personally think it's probably more about their skin color than their hygiene? lol. ps: black people, don't be pissed, i'm not racist, but im having a debate about this w/ my friend -- i told him well then why haven't i ever noticed they smell abnormally when im around them -- and he said: "you haven't gotten close enough to them, try going to school with 500 of them they smell.. some worse than others. especially their heads.. because they only wash their hair once or twice a month" So is this something that is well known and has escaped me? Or is this person just racist? I'm a "cracker", I don't know much about black people and their history. thanks. |
Thanks for making me laugh. Some people are just too fucking ignorant.

People need to learn to stop hatin, Racism aint funny, your friend doesnt have a point - hes just being racist.

The hair thing, dunno about once or twice a month but the black girls I asked told me certain hairstyles they get would be ruined if they washed their hair.

It doesn't care to me, as long as they smell ok.

the whites were scared the black guys would use their big schlongs to steal all the white bitches, I think I saw something about it on the history channel

I think his theory of the historical reason for segregation is complete bunk.
I also disagree about poorer hygeine, but I would concede there's some basis for his own experience, people of color often having a different, and thereby more noticable, smell. I went to a a mostly African American school for a few years as well, and I'd be surprised if someone with the same experience doesn't have the same olfactory observation. Maybe African Americans felt the same about whites? It's easy to dismiss it as racist hatred or imagination if you haven't been there yourself, but your nose knows! :) I think a major factor is that people of color are a lot more prone to dry skin, and so use more skin moisturizer (petroleum jelly, cocoa butter, etc.) as a result, which carry their own smells. I think it's also true that for some hair styles they typically wash their hair less frequently, but it's a different type of hair, and I don't believe scalp odor is the issue. Another factor is that everyone has a smell...there may very well be some subtle instrinsic differences between races. There was a book a few years back, addressing "taboo" racial topics, titled "Why do white people smell like wet dogs when they come in from the rain." People have their perspectives, and there are differences between races, that doesn't mean all such observations are racist. |
Kill whitey :BangBang:

sleep with an asian woman for a couple of nights and you'll notice that they smell funny too, especially if they eat real asian food. Hot as fuck but definitely a different smell.
It wasn't hygeine that made old time whites seperate themselves from blacks. White southerners had to dehumanize blacks so they could brutalize them without guilt or fear of eventually going to hell. It's carried over from generation to generation. |
Try and find some more intelligent friends then you wouldn't have stupid 'debates' like that.
But then seems we also have two very different subjects in this thread. Bodily odour and segregation - the two aren't related. Did your friend not bother with history at school or was the schooling really that bad? |
A lame view your friend has there. Justifying and trying to reason away something like segregation as if "oh, it was just a smell thing".. very lame. Tell him I said so.

i was expecting to read the common line: "im not racist, i have black friends!"

I agree on some of this ... (I have a lot of black friends ... one of them is behind me right now and laughing) .
If you are in a club next to a big black crew, it's most likely to stink ... there is SOME of them that don't watch often and it's more accepted . Some of them CANNOT wash their hair all the time because of the cut . |
