TGP Owners Would YOU??

accept galleries that have thumbnails created by remotethumbs that lead to hosted galleries instead of 1 picture?

I am wondering if you see an advantage to this.

the way i see it if it is an RT gallery there is no need for webmasters to use banners because each thumb is a click to a sponsor.

that would give you cleaner galleries and more chances of getting traffic to your recip buttons.

Also since RT updates thumbs automatically 1 gallery from 1 niche may constantly have fresh content thus no need to delete much lots of bookmarks to your tgp because you are providing fresh content.

please give me your feedback depending on how it does I may market this option to our users which would submitt a lot of galleries.

It's sounds like pretty nice idea! I'd probably use it :thumbsup

cewl thanks for the feedback but as a tgp owner would you approve this kind of gallery?

Anna_O 09-25-2004 09:11 AM

Are you talking about a gallery with lets say 12 thumbnails that leads to 12 different galleries?

If so... No.

yup

A gallery is supposed to lead to pictures, not other galleries.

inabon 09-25-2004 09:20 AM

i see your point but i am wondering what do you have to loose? i mean you are still sending them hits whether they have 20 pics or 200

the webmaster will be just trying to increase sales opportunities..

for you it is more chances of someone seeing your recip link instead of clicking on a banner.

I own tgps myself and i really dont see why not. i am just wondering if others would accept it so i can promote this idea to my submitters.

Exactly.

Most TGP owners list their own galleries and/or sell spots. A gallery like that is A) To much free porn and B) 12 opportunities in one to sell to your surfers. Why should we list something like that?

johndoebob 09-25-2004 09:28 AM

No because the surfers will be pissed and think of your TGP as something similiar to jerk circles especially because remotethumbs skimms.

The purpose of galleries is to give the user good sample pictures and the submitter for a good gallery a piece of the profit pie.

No TGP owner wants to loose traffic because of that or loose bookmarkers to that pseudo TGP.

:2 cents:

ok your point is valid. I guess i dont need to promote something like this.

Excuse me

RemoteThumbs skim does not redirect. we only show the same gallery but with our code in it.

Thought we had made that clear by now.

if you see redirects is because people use trade scripts on their TGPs.

inabon 09-25-2004 09:35 AM

It is funny but everyone talks about pissing the surfer ETC.

Has anyone ran a survey on a TGP to get surfer feedback?

Abyss_Vee 09-25-2004 09:37 AM

that wouldnt work,, its like putting a tgp inside a tgp

Alright didn't know that.If you want traffic to TGP kind of sites trade traffic, otherwise you won't get traffic from anybody. It's like sending your customers to the competition without really getting anything for it. :2 cents:

I just use common sense.Would you still continue to click if you get to a gallery instead of a picture without you knowing where the next click will lead you.

People know about skimming and don't care but that stuff scares them away for sure.

I see your point but you have to realize that webmaster common sense is not always surfer common sense. you would be amazed at the answers i have had from friends of mine that don't know i own the tgp i sent them too.

I have sometimes been proven totally wrong when using the "common sense approach"

hehe thats cool good point though

GonZo 09-25-2004 10:13 AM

This will probably get lost on here and a waste of effort but for what its worth...I use Remote Thumbs for my filtered shit traffic wher I would have passed the click off somewhere else and Im starting to see sites convert that Ive never had any luck with.

I use it to have one more chance at the surfer.
