This latest Google update has screwed me bigtime. Never had so many domains banned so quickly. And a lot of the stuff on these domains is not even spammy, go figure. I'm going after Yahoo from now on, Google is giving me ulcer's seeing my joins going up and down so quickly.

seems like lots will be doing the same. catering to something as unpredictable and (recently) as shitty in terms of accuracy in the serps will turn a lot of googlers off from optimizing strictly towards them, imo anyway.

On the other hand, I think I've nearly perfected the process on how to ban a domain from Google. I should make this a service, if you're #11, I'll get domains 1-10 banned for you :)

It was good to me too for some new sites and for getting a couple back on the first page under keywords that somehow had fallen off .....glad to see a little bit of time paid off :winkwink:

The yahoo traffic is way better than the Google. Yahoo is still #1 on Alexa, while Google is at #4. The Yahoo SERPS do suck and there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to how the results are ranked. Try a few searches for information and you will see for yourself. People searching will begin to pick up on this and I predict the Yahoo search traffic will drop off, though it will remain a top desination as an internet portal.

It's really all in the language...you will never hear anyone say:

"I'm gonna' Yahoo it..."

Eh, yahoo will always have tons of search traffic because sometimes lazy fuckers like me would rather just type it in from the page they are on. Yahoo has millions and millions of registered viewers, I don't see their searches going down at all.

I kinda think the best approach is to slide under the radar with 2 and 3rd page rankings :1orglaugh

Yeah, I remember man. Yahoo is a different breed though. Google is my homepage but if I'm already on a yahoo page I'm gonna use their search to see what's up. I imagine they are working on their algo too. ;)

I got about 50 more back links on one site still no pr and 20 or so on another not to bad!

BTW, Yahoo seems to love backlink text right now. If google has bombs yahoo has nuclear warheads.

I think this update is more a rollback to the early august serps.
Don't count on these serps staying and it wouldn't surprise me if the sites that you think are banned will return.
it seems to me that goole are tweaking their algo once a month again.If I am right,the sites that jumped up with this update may suffer the next one.

Get rid of some of your meta tags and don't overdo the word "web hosting'
target some synomyns such as "webhosting" and "website hosts" and adult web hosting".
Creat a page of text explaining the benefits and advantages of hosting websites with you and just have one link on it and make it back to your home page with the anchor text "web hosting"

Then pay me to get in the first 20 results for you.$500 month as long as its in the first 20.

I've noticed that, I split my traffic a while ago with some subaccounts tracking to see which engines do better and was rather surprised to see that Google was one of my worst converting traffic sources. PPC and Yahoo were right up there as top converting.

Google traffic has been consistently shitty for me as well. Yahoo beats them by a mile.

Wired Guy - I know you don't like to give out anything, but if you were to guess - why would you think they banned those domains? Usually you have to overstep pretty far.

I haven't lost a domain since SEGuru had that spidertrap back 5 years ago.

I'm pretty whitehat though.

Remember that script I told you about in Phoenix that got me that #1 ranking. Well, I stepped it up a notch or two :)

It shouldn't have gotten me banned though since I modified it to spread the PR over several pages so I wouldn't be #1 on all the keywords but rather just sit in the top 10 among different keywords. As you can expect this was a blackhat script :)

It probably triggered some kind of filter when the bots came. I used to be a big cloaker for my former employer, but it was very feast or famine. It would be a pain in the ass - just as you think you have it tweaked - that's when they will get you.

That's why I chose the direction for my own stuff that I have now, but - then again - I'm not nearly as smart as you. :)
