Jews eat it, it's another deli type food. ya know what - i grew up with people talking about tongue sandwiches and i never even put two and two together - until one day when i was about 20 i was at a buddy's house, i was in the kitchen, and the mom was making tongue cuz apparently my friend's dad loved it - so i was standing in front of the stove with a covered pot on it steaming and my friend took off the lid - and there it was, a HUGE THICK cow's tongue - looked like it had just been yanked out of the poor cow's mouth.

i'll pass, corned beef and pastrami are enough for me.

Yeah, used to eat it as a kid, but I can't imagine where it would be considered a delicacy. We were poor and we could afford it

Wasn't a delicacy when I was a kid: at least in the north of England, back in the 50's and 60's it was as common as ham for salads, sandwiches, etc.

When I was growing up we would have that.. would also have tongue sandwiches with mayo and mustard. We also got fed a lot of liver.. and chicken gizzards/hearts... I haven't had any of that since I left home 20+ years ago.

Down here people use it in their bean dishes for flavor or they roast it. It does have a distinctive flavor.

I had tongue when I was really young, but as I got older an drealized what it really was I refused to eat it. But every Sunday I would eat liver with onions..delicious

Please tell me what makes you think eating a tongue is a good idea to begin with. Do you push your cart past the meat section , pass by the tongue and go mmmmmmmmmm that sure looks good? I dont get it.
