Vonage has been pretty cool . Just got my second box from them.

Don't know how well they do fail over when the IP is down... Guess that's a good thing.

yeah its good service. you can get your own tollfree number. or have a phone in any area code. pretty cool setup.

We have them in our mexico place, and love it. We were looking to get the local phone company to set up, and they were asking for 2k for the phone, and then dsl would be there in a few months. 6 months later it arrived.

By then we got hooked up with a company that has high speed internet via radio signal. Got vonage, and dont have to worry about the locals.

Does it sound just as good as a regular land line? Has anybody used the "soft phone" features?
