Trump has become nothing but a Ratings-Whore...

I don't even know what to think about it anymore...

the past 2 episodes are all about boardroom drama,

who cares what happened on the task, right? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Of course and I think it was a conscious decision on his behalf. He's making 10 times as much money as he has to pay to the winner. Plus its like a 15 week commercial for Trump. He doesn't give a shit about what happens on the show...regardless its a win situation for him.

Webby 09-23-2004 10:13 PM

Was he ever anything other than a ratings whore?

This is a man with a massive ego problem - both in his biz and personal life.

Do you think a person with more assets than God needs to play silly games on TV?? He needs to feed himself.

Turboface 09-23-2004 10:13 PM

It seemed to be an hour long infomercial for Crest. There was even a commercial for the new Crest toothpaste after the show, with the two execs from Procter & Gamble that were in the boardroom.

Donald is truly a marketing master.

he does have a huge ego, but he has the money to back it up

Given a choice, would you rather "relate" to some person without an ego problem or one with? :-)

Money don't matter a toss... that can come and go - even with Trump.

People with money are ten a penny - you got "real people" with money and "fakes" who *need* support and to be "seen as something". It has more to do with personal qualities of people than the money they may have.

I used to consider Trump in the "real people" list - but he dispelled that a while back :-)

Actually Donald is a terrible businessman who is known just like the president for running businesses into the ground. And yes he does need the show and the publicity and here is why.

Real world business works way differant than the internet. In real world it is who you know not what you know and debt is an asset. As long as you do not commit fraud nothing else will peirce the corporate veil, this means a person who knows how to use it will prosper. In real business you use inside tract to get an investor or use assets to get a bank to fork over money. You then open a business and say "ahhhh man we lost money again this year" for the first 5 years, after that they start to look at your paperwork real hard so you need to be starting to break even. After 5 years you have shown you are stable, in the meantime you have been fleecing your company to empty the bank accounts at the end of the year so the company is in debt. (how many of you thought your boss gave your divisions all those gifts, bonuses and trips because he liked you?) Then somebody who does not know the rules or some wet behind the ears business student comes and buys your business from you and you sell for way more than you put in or at least break even. 5 years later if they are smart the loaned money is running out and the person who buys it from you now sells a 10 year stable business to someone else. Rinse, lather, repeat HAHA.

Donald on the other hand did it the other way. Run the company, puff your chest out and beat on it, bang a hot chic and talk people into thinking you know what you are doing. Bully people and talk shit like you own them, this will cause people to think you really are a bad ass. Get all that money, build up more assets to use to get more investor money. Get so much money invested that everyone involved is afraid not to give you more money when you need it because the DAY you say "I am bankrupt" they lose everything and you walk away having all the things you own bought with investment money for your salary and being protected by corporate veil! So as you see the man who was once the richest has been surpased, he needs the publicity to show people he is still on top and he is important, it is all smoke and mirrors.

I don't watch the show to see Trump, I watch the show to see how the contestants perform the tasks.

In tonite's episode, it was hilarious when he and his entourage was comming down the escalator..they actually played TRUMPETS in the background music! Like we was some sort of King or something!

Frankly, he doesn't LOOK healthy either!

They did that in the first episode too

Fucking lame

MikeHawk 09-23-2004 11:44 PM

The real problem with show is simple TRUMP, he I am sure has stepped in more and is trying to set up his vision of the show, he is not a television man, leave it to the experts, he has lost me, and I was a die hard show fan....:(

Goatse 09-24-2004 11:07 PM

This is a man's whose father gave him something like tens of millions of dollars, yet he wrote a book entitled "How to Get Rich."

robfantasy 09-24-2004 11:12 PM

is the show good?

Strife 09-24-2004 11:19 PM

From what I've heard and read, the general feedback that NBC/Trump got from the first season was that the audience wanted more boardroom drama, so their giving it to them this season.

LOL, a terrible businessman?

Well granted he had a nice head start inheriting his father's apartment building empire, but he multiplied that up in value in the billions.

I've been to his hous Mara Lago in Palm Beach and chatted with him at a charity event. He's a very bright, friendly and nice guy in person. What you see on TV isn't the same as in person.

Much like KRL, I have met him also. I cannot say the experience was as pleasurable.

I ate salad with him at the Compton Rosco's Chicken and Waffles. He was not very polite, in regard to his intelligence? We vaguely touched on biz. The convo mostly revolved around variations of tic-tac-toe strategies. He tried to convince me, the first move in the center is the best way. Meanwhile, I told him the object, was hitting each corner - In an L shape.

What an (A)sshole.
