Fame and fortune can come at a high price for Hollywood's hottest celebrities and there is never a shortage of people out there looking to make them pay. From smooth talkers to fast walkers, All Access: When Stars Get Scammed looks at some of the slickest scammers and swindlers who have taken more than a few `A' listers out for a ride.
Celebrity extortion is one of the ways scammers try to cash in on a star's mistakes. We'll look at how super hot actress Cameron Diaz was shook down to keep an x-rated S&M video off the internet and how this blonde bombshell fought back big time! Also Lil' Kim and the price one crook tried to make rap's Queen Bee pay to get back her bling. It's hard to tell who to trust when you make it big which is why so many stars stick with the people they know best or so they think. Whether it's a business partner, talent manager or just plain mom, the ties that bind can easily come undone when the money starts rolling in. We'll explore the rocky relationships between artists and their managers and find out why bands like Nine Inch Nails and The Backstreet Boys have felt their managers were taking more than his fair share. We'll also look at why young stars like Leann Rimes, Macaulay Culkin and Gary Coleman kept their lawsuits all in the family. Whether it's saving the rainforests or feeding the hungry, celebrities everywhere are doing their part to give back. We'll see why it's important that stars are choosy when they pick charities to support. Find out how big hearted celebs like Leonardo Dicaprio, Tobey Maguire, George Clooney and Michael Jackson were duped because they believed in a good cause. In Hollywood things are not always what they seem. We'll meet a celebrity imposter who's antics have been getting on movie star Robert Deniro's nerves and see what happens when look-alikes pretend to be Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and the guitarist from Creed. Also find out how information age criminals used identity theft to go around robbing super-star Will Smith and golf champ Tiger Woods of their good names. In a town where you're only as hot as your next project, it's important that stars be able to hold onto their loot. From Leonardo Dicaprio to Alanis Morissette, Cameron Diaz to Courtney Cox we'll look at why just about every big name got caught up in the shady shenanigans of financial advisor Dana Giacchetto. We'll also sit down with former celebrity stylist, Derek Khan, who tells us how he stole millions of dollars in jewels by dropping some very big names. So tune into a full hour of All Access and find out what happens when stars get scammed. |
