Who Thinks that this car is totaled. (pic)

I know I already posted this picture of my car but I want to know whether or not its totaled...... My opinion is yes..... I dont see how they could possibly fix it. The insurance dude is coming to tomorrow to inspect the car and decide whether or not its a total and I just want to know what you people think.

xenigo 09-23-2004 02:23 PM

Uh yeah dude, that's major structural damage. They can't fix that shit.

Meta Ridley 09-23-2004 02:24 PM

OMG!!11 J00 60t R34r3nd0wn3d!!11 LOL!!!11

I dont think its totaled

Manowar 09-23-2004 02:24 PM

how badly damaged is the front ?

liquidmoe 09-23-2004 02:25 PM

Depends, cant see the real damage that would make it totalled, such as how much your car's frame is fucked up and how much of your exhaust was damaged. Since you were rear-ended your engine and the majority of your shit should be fine.

From that amount of impact your frame will definitely be bent in other places besides the back, but technically speaking it may be fixable. Certainly wont have the same handling or ride after it is since they can never really realign the frame to perfection again and you wont be able to align your wheels perfectly either.

I guess mostly just depends on frame damage, exhaust damage, and your rear axle.

dropped9 09-23-2004 02:25 PM

Frame could be fucked on it... if so its totalled.

pornJester 09-23-2004 02:25 PM

Doesn't look totaled to me.

I rolled over my car once and they didn't total it. Took a while to fix though, 4-5 months.

lb_vee 09-23-2004 02:26 PM

Damn, thats a nice dent.

If I ever get a dent, I want one like that.

I think thats pretty much totalled. Once the frame is bent, Its way too difficult to get it back to what it was.

Methodcash Rick 09-23-2004 02:32 PM

It'll buff out...:thumbsup

.:St Ides:. 09-23-2004 02:35 PM

It will be fixed, rear end damage does not harm the frame as much as front end. They will fix it for sure

Are those better angles?

Dealer 09-23-2004 02:37 PM

Its hard to see in your photo as to the buckle in the roof.... as to the rear... you just need a new rear clip... but if the roof is buckled badly... again hard to tell in your photo... its very hard to fix buckled roofs... Most bodyshops just add bondo onto the buckle to make it look level and then paint... but thats not fixing it.

Melvin the Dude 09-23-2004 02:38 PM

would depend on the frame condition.

with the value of that car, that damage is what would be considered repairable.

you'll need a bent frame if you're hoping for a total write-off

Jeff aka NIGHTfall 09-23-2004 02:46 PM

say goodbye to that car :2 cents:

if i were you though.... buy it back from the insurence (if cheap) and you can part it out and make the money back + some

I could do that, it has a new engine however, this is where my pain and suffering come into play, I got torn shit in my neck and shoulder, thats not going to be overlooked trust this. I'll be seeing this guy in court unless his insurance company is smart and settles.

warlock5 09-23-2004 03:12 PM

You just need one of these :thumbsup

zentz 09-23-2004 03:15 PM

yes, from those angles it looks like a write off

Vitasoy 09-23-2004 03:18 PM

I think it's time to buy a new car.

Rich 09-23-2004 03:19 PM

Snap an axle just to make sure, your best bet is a write off. :winkwink:

project_naughty 09-23-2004 03:19 PM

So, you came to an adult webmaster board to ask if your car was totalled?

Maybe next time you want an opinion on a gallery design you'll go to a car mechanics' forum.

Did you want the sig views, or did you want everyone to know that you have enough money to buy an A4?

TheMob 09-23-2004 03:21 PM

wow, someone def hit it hard

FilthyRob 09-23-2004 03:23 PM

looks pretty trashed

Raf1 09-23-2004 03:26 PM

looks pretty bad, but I'm not a mechanic... :glugglug

vivalaspam 09-23-2004 03:30 PM

The body doesnt look totaled, but if there is any damage to the frame they will have to total it.

If they do tell you it's not totalled and they can fix it, make sure you make a trip down to the body shop and get their opinion on it after the insurance people have left. Wouldn't want the insurance people to be cheap and pursuade the body shop its not totalled and they fix it and leave an underlying problem that could haunt you later on.

Hahaha your funny...... enough money to buy an Audi....... they arent that expensive. It was a good try though...... "A" for effort.

abadfish 09-23-2004 03:43 PM

You better hope it is totalled... I wouldn't want it back :)

lagwagon 09-23-2004 03:45 PM

damn that thiing is going to cost a ton

Gabriel 09-23-2004 03:59 PM

From this angle it doesn't look totaled. Your a, b, and c pillars look fine, although the quarter panel is buckled.

http://matrixcontent.com/asher/mypoorcar2.jpg

Although from this angle it looks like you may have frame issues.

the same opinion here

jade_dragon 09-23-2004 04:33 PM

Total means 60-70% of the total price of the vehicle would be spent in repair.

I own a tuner shop with a body shop but we do not play the same game as the others. The mark up on body work is SICK, all you would have to with that vehicle is do a rear quarter skin cut and weld which will be weaker of course and you should be aware of that, but that damage is repairable and costs less than you would think given a fair shop. But I will not lie, it is bad and the chances of someone giving you a good price on it are slim and none.....
