When you icq someone who is online and they dont answer you. They did a minute ago.. But then all of a sudden dont.

It's like wtf?

I got 2 ppl doing this atm...

I can't stand the people who are always shown as "away" but you know damn well they are online!:ak47:

I do this sometimes, because often I get a phonecall or I have to feed the baby, etc.

I do it just to piss people off ;-)

I do it quite a bit ... working from home makes it happen a lot more. Or even on ICQ at home. I sit in my office talking to someone, then either the kid will cry, the phone will ring, etc. and I'll have to step away.

...or the only time they hit you up on ICQ is to spam a thread, their radio show, their new board, etc. and never talk to you any other time......

Here's the reason I do this sometimes.....

I set my ICQ to "away" in order to let others know that if they message me I might not get back to them immediately. I work from home, I get up, I go do stuff, I step away from the computer to grab coffee or make a sandwich or take a phone call or mail a letter or go buy groceries or any number of things.

When your ICQ is set to "online" people seem to expect an immediate answer. So I'm really trying to be considerate by setting it to "away".

So shoot me.

You mean like when you try to get a quick answer from someone then get tired of waiting so you decide to constantly bug them till they get the hint?:winkwink:

I have this happen to me way too often, I hate when people feel that I have to give them my full attention the same min they need me.

For those who care:

ICQ has an option to leave your status as ALLWAYS ON, this leaves no way your someone can tell if you're there or not.

I hate it when I'm masturbating and someone ICQs me.
