I heard today.... John Kerry changed his middle name to be an "F" so he could have the initials "JFK". Is this true? Or rumor?

YOU ARE CORRECT!!! He changed his name from Jane Fonda to John F. Kerry. He kept the J and F but decided to go with something "friendly" for the last name. He remembers one of the people in Vietnam that actually EARNED a purple heart was named Kerry Thomas so he grew fond of that name.
