Is this why it's hard to buy GOOD content?

This is meant to start a discussion so tell me what you think.

I had a meeting recently with a guy who was complaining about the lack of good non saturated Latina content. It seems most of the good LA shooters have shot to death the good looking Hispanic girls and now what is left is bad content of bad looking girls.

He was thinking about flying me to Cuba or Brazil to shoot girls there. I would love to go to South America and shoot good stuff for a month. When I told him the budget he nearly fainted and this is the problem.

Here is the budget.

Me = $10,000 and it should be more, but for a trip to S America :).
Flight = $2,000 I do not fly cabin class. LOL
Accommodation = $4,000 again could be more, I need somewhere to shoot.
Food = $1,000 could be less.
Models $8,000 would not just be shooting solo.

Total $25,000 and it could climb.

Production shooting 5 days a week, 3 sets/videos a day max 60 sets/videos. $416.66 each. Fancy investing that kind of money?

Now look at what Score, Hustler, Vivid, Private, Wicked, etc. invest on a shoot.

So there in nutshell is why you have problems buying good content.

Why don't I fly down to Rio and shoot for myself? Well I doubt if the extra sales would reflect the extra investment.

It will happen, people will start thinking more positively about the product they sell and less about advertising or exposing it. Then a lot will fall by the wayside. Simply because you can't sell someone a Ford if he's use to driving a Saab.

We are getting more people here who don't think girls should get more than $300 a day for anal. They are spending money to make money. Think about what you spend to go to Vegas, stay there, get a stand, entertainment, put on a party. All to impress a lot of free loading kids who could not drive traffic if their life depended on it. When was the last time you saw Alsscan do this?

And this same argument fits for why there is not a lot of good Asian, Indian, Fetish content on the net.

No that was minimum outlay costs on producing it.

If I was selling it custom I would probably be looking at a 100% mark up on what it costs.

To be honest I do not know.

Another good reason not to shoot Indian content.

There's tons of hot East Indian chicks in Toronto.

...yeah baby ! Charly (or paul? ;o), you spoke my mind. AND add to that the fact that not all of us (me for example) are as famous as you are as a content producer, so usually the customers would try to get even lower prices from us, the mortals... Also, when they find out i shoot in Eastern Europe, that my models are EE girls, now that's another reason to cut some from the budget. And in the final, the "happy" customer will get from me some "damaged" junkie, with a ton of make-up, shoot in some cheap ass apartment, or my studio, on a coloured paper background....
I was talking another day with a customer and proposed him "GIPSY content" - not many do that here.... and all i got from him was a request for a lower price, "becouse gipsy girls must be cheap ass whores".....

I'm not sure where the problem is. $25k for 60 sets is a dam good price. I just paid $57k for 72 exclusive scenes across 4 niches.

IMO, content isn't where you pinch pennies. After all it is the product we are selling and to pinch on it or low ball it, it can have an adverse affect on your business.

The typical buyer mentality is that a seller marks his product up knowing that a customer is going to ask for a better price.

And anyway - you don't ask you don't get...!!

either they are cheap or unaware of the value and costs of production vs. buying it from a content company - they are not going to find "quality" content under that price.

Totally agree
Many customers want the content to be twice as cheap only because of model's nationality... In that case my usual reply is "Get it somewhere else and be happy" :)
