i live way in the woods of washington state, and the rainy season has begun. here are few shots of some mushrooms growing in my yard.

Easiest way to tell is to have a nibble of them all and see. If they kill you then you know not to eat them again! :)

something to play with. That's one of the mushrooms Lewis Carroll used in
Alice in Wonderland.

A ring on the stem and purple tinge to gills (the underside of the mushroom cap) is safe.

shows how little you know about mushrooms, at least 2 of the types of mushrooms in the above photos can be eaten for they psychotropic or europhic properties.

one time i tried to give her advice on how to dry her mushrooms better. she got pissed and told me i dont know shit :)


was kind of waiting for her here just to see how many and which of the shrooms above can be eaten for thier non-gourmet qualities :) in her 'professional' opinion. ha fucking ha, ha.

Heh, I surfed GFY briefly there, but I think that was pool.com on the screen, tending domain auctions. The connection worked, but was really slow, not good for casual surfing.

Whoa, F717 is a serious camera! :) I used a Sony DSC-T1. It's 3.6"x2.4"x0.8", so really compact, though it does seem to have problems focusing close up (even with macro), and seems more prone to being out of focus even on shots even a couple feet away than with bigger extendable-lens cameras. (My last cam was a Sony
DSC-P5 , but the battery died). I'd say a third or half of my mushroom shots turned out blurry, and I don't think it was from shaking the camera. Perhaps it's controllable with more skill, I'm not that familiar with the camera yet.

Here's a full size image of my cabin (2592x1944)...the other pics are shrunken.
