I started a batch of 287 30 minute videos on Sunday the 12th at 6:12pm....That batch will be finished in about 8 more hours.


I hate video encoding.....I have other things that I could be using that coputer for while it is busy with this batch....:mad:

Bullshit. I called them about a month ago and they wanted about 40% MORE than my current insurance company.

THEN I called my current company to ask for a better rate.

They quadrupled my liability and raised my premium another 18 bucks a year.

At his full rate, it would cost me $34,440.00 to encode the current batch I am almost done with.

HOWEVER......Just imagine what I have already spent in the production costs of these 287 videos. They are all hard core and 30 minutes each AFTER editing.

If you know anything about content production costs then you know it costs a lot more than the 34k to encode.

Plus.....I have lost a week worth of work from my main powerhouse machine. Work that I will need to get caught up on starting tomorrow. Work that I could be done with by now if I had used Dream Tank's services.

For the record...I have been ripped by outsourcing video projects before and I have sworn to never to that again...BUT....I fully trust Jim and the people he works with. :2 cents:

Well I encode my movies myself, it does take a long time, I have over 700 gigs of encoded movies in my site so I know. That said, it would cost me less to simply hire someone to do the job than paying 4$ per minute. That's why I said "expensive" :winkwink:

it requires bodies and hours even with the most brilliant scripts....
