I would say Clinton, Washington, James Madison, Jefferson, or Kennedy

sextoyking 09-21-2004 03:21 PM

Clinton, FDR, Lincoln, Washington and Jefferson.

JFK is in my top 10, a great leader but his time was cut off so short.

Where was Bill Clinton during the Rwandan genocide? Oh yeah, he was ignoring it while 1 million people or so were slaughtered by machete. Why did he turn down a legitmate chance to nab Osama?

IMO, John F Kennedy wins. I really wish more presidents would fund space projets more, and more missions like we had during the space race. Reagan is definately up there as well, not to mention Abe Lincoln.

Come to think of it haha, its a toss between Lincoln and Kennedy. Reagan is third.

sextoyking 09-21-2004 03:25 PM

Downtime,

Clinton has said for a few years that his one big mistake was not jumping in when the killings were going on in Rawanda.

Reagan might of been tough on the ussr, etc but he also had a part in subverting the constitution - going against the laws set by congress, RE: iran contra. That was a serious mistake.

James Madison

B/C of the 1812 war

READ YOUR HISTORY BOOKS!

On June 18, 1812, President James Madison signed a declaration of war against Great Britain, marking the beginning of the War of 1812. Frustrated by British maritime practices and support of Native American resistance to western expansion, the Americans entered the war with ambitious plans to invade Canada, a goal that was never realized.

The strength of the British army proved too great for the American forces. Both on land and at sea, American troops met with great losses.

On August 1814, British troops entered Washington, D.C., and burned the Capitol and the White House. By December, both the Americans and the British recognized that the time had come to end the conflict. Representatives of the two nations met in Belgium on December 24 and signed the Treaty of Ghent, which ended the war and restored previously recognized boundaries between the United States and British territory in North America.

Dick Cheney!

VirtuMike 09-21-2004 03:32 PM

See? I'm not the only person that thinks Madison is up there.

DimeStoreNovel 09-21-2004 03:52 PM

I can remember as far back as Eisenhower, but I don't think any of them was worth a shit.

I think most of them would have been better off driving a milk delivery truck.

I'll have to say Bill Clinton

Why the fuck does everyone always pick Kennedy as the all time best president?

He was a fucking loser.

He was a drunk
He was a drug user. (hooked on prescription pills)
He was a womanizer.
He had prostitutes in the white house all the time.
He liked to slap "his" women around.
He knew nothing of being a politician.
His presidency was bought.
He was involved in some very shady deals.

The list goes on. Do your research. Read some of the books written about him, by some of his closest friends and staff at the white house.

He was only popular, because of his last name.

If you disagree, then by all means tell me what he did as president that was so outstanding.

Seriously though he was a pioneer for human rights.

He helped avert full fledged nuclear war. I guess that was good, lol.

But I don't like him since he was up there with Bush with his war mongering.

Let's see... All the best presidents of old were drinkers and snuff users... And he was banging Marilyn Monroe (jealous?), EVERY girl is a prostitute - ESPECIALLY the ones that go to the white house. NO good presidents start out knowing how to run a country, and the best ones are the ones that don't play the games. And every president in the past 50 years bought their presidency, every president is involved in shady deals, and if your bitch starts talkin' smack are you gonna put her in her place - if you're the single most powerful man in the world?

What did he do?

Well somehow he managed to avoid getting us into World War 3... I think his diplomacy in that situation was a textbook example. There is no possible way anyone could have done a better job and a lesser man would have sent the world back to cockroaches.

vivalaspam 09-21-2004 05:55 PM

Please tell me again exactly what it was that President Kennedy did himself during the Bay of Pigs crisis? and how did it compare to a text book example?

Are you sure his daddies friends and his family weren't the ones running the show at the white house and he was just the "face"?

Abraham Lincoln, who had declared "Government cannot endure permanently half slave, half free..." is elected president, the first Republican, receiving 180 of 303 possible electoral votes and 40 percent of the popular vote.

Goatse 09-22-2004 02:47 AM

George Washington. Richard Nixon is the only president in the last 80 years who wasn't a complete puppet of special interest groups. And they found a way to get him out...
