Why the HELL is the internet Rectangular?!?!?!
 

We need more shapes online. Banners are rectangles. Windows are rectangles... Everything is 4 sided. I was messing around in Photoshop and realized that you could do so much more with diagonal guides and slices. And even more so, circles.

Can someone please forward this thread to whoever created the internet?

I think it's the best way to fill out a page and corner everything.

Computers are basically paper simulators. Not going to be much of a change unless computer displays and / or interfaces are changed. After seeing movies like Minority Report I'm not so sure I want that to happen.

What he said. Put four squares together and you have a bigger square with no wasted space. Put four circles together and you have a bunch of wasted space in the corners and middle where only a small part of them touch.

computer monitors would have to be shaped differently for your idea to work

why don't you get creative and turn that 468x70 rectangle banner into a 468x70 oval and blend it with the background!! oh whats that you say? wasted ad space!!!!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I at least think diagonal guides and slices in Photoshop would be keen. I can think of alot of things to use this for.

Why you don't make it an octagon then!... its close to a circule you will ever get, and this why you have more opportunities to miss around with, and everything has squares so no space is goign to be wasted. Or how about they invent a high defenision projection screen that allows you to see what you are doing with out the monitor, that would be fucking great, imagen the new porn sites with real ass bitchs coming right at you, while don't need to download any special cams... Fucking little bitch coming live at you from your projection screens, everything will be 3d, benners, whaterver the fuck you want... that would be sick.

pixels are square, monitors are rectangular and so is html, the biggest design headache with online is trying to make things look like they aren't rectangular

Maxcash had some nice round and star shaped banners.. by appearance anyway..
