Domain Appraisals :
ok I have a couple questions concerning the value of a good domain name:
#1. If a domain name is very good and is easily recognizable/brandable does that add value to the name? #2.If said domain is excellent for several niches does this also add value? #3. I have been told not to let this domain go for less than $20K. Having said that, is there any good domain experts here that could give me an idea of the value of a domain and reasons for a high value domain? Thanks in advance :thumbsup |
1. YES
2. YES now what is the domain? |
Even Miss Cleo would tell you to post the fucking domain.

some reputable domain dealers about value etc. I have several people who have told me its worth 20k. What I want is some *REAL* info on how to value a domain such as this. |
any name is brandable, and that does not make domain values higher!
the key is type in traffic, if the domain has type in traffic then it is worth something. |
It's not a bad name, perfectly good for a paysite, but no way is it worth any $20k. Tell you what, ask any of the guys who said it's worth $20k if they want to buy it for $10k. When they say no, say "well how about $5k, you can flip it to someone else for $10k easy." When they say no, ask if they'd consider $1k. When they still say no ask them "then why the fuck did you tell me it's worth $20k." Seriously, if you get a $1k offer, I'd jump on it.

And to give a bit more insight into what makes a valuable name, as mentioned, type-in rate is important. When you hear a two word domain, consider if anyone would think "gee, I'd like to see some xxxxx yyyyy right now." If it makes sense, like xxxxx=big and yyyyy=titties, then bigtitties.com it has some type-in value. Even xxxxx=monster and yyyyy=hooters would have some type-in value. But xxxxx=facial and yyyyy=college, very few folks are going to think "I'd like to see a (or some) facial college right now". They'd only think to type it if you develop and market the name, and that's true of a lot more domains than there are natural type-ins. Like bangbus.com had no natural type-in value when it started, but now zillions of people type it in.
