Can people please tell me the advantages of buying custom or non-exclusive.

I'm writing an article.

Non-Exclusive:

Well, it's cheaper. :)

Oh, and surfers might be inclined to buy from a gallery simply because they're tired of seeing the same stuff over and over.

Exclusive:

Easier TGP listings.

More relaxed license terms. Can usually be used on hosted galleries, as free content, etc.

More sales are possible because surfers haven't seen it before and it'll keep them on the page longer so they see your ads longer.

Members like fresh, unseen stuff.

You can get shoots exactly like you want them. Sometimes it's hard to find what you're looking for in non-exclusive. (Like if you need a specific type of model in a specific type of clothing in a specific setting.)

Exclusive:

Gives you the free hand in how you want the shoot to go, and look like. Can make exactly what you were looking for.. Not some premade stuff...

Custom is good for those of us that do 'real' fetish sites because it is very hard to get the content your surfers want from content available to the masses. It means I can tell the photographer to feature the item of the fetish more in the pics and therefore make my customers happy.

So if I told you how to guard against this you would pay me how much?

A lot rests on getting real pornographers and knowing what to ask for.

we only shoot exclusive... we dont sell sets a hundred times like you do... so we have no problem with non exclusive content:thumbsup

This is the illusion.

Non-exclusive sets at $35 to $50 do not sell a 100 times. In fact in the first 3 months it would be a good set that sells more than 10 times.

Sets at $5 a time can sell 100 times, but not always.

So spending $400 for exclusvie set/video means you can buy one for every 10 non-exclusive brand new set/videos. And in the first 3 months the chances of them being seen by surfers are limited.

Adding new content every day and showing that to your memebers/surfers as soon as they get to your site or inside is going to convert a lot better than delivering 1/10 of the content.

One exclusive set = $400
Ten non exclusive = $400

What do you think the surfer wants, one set a day or ten?

This is assuming things like quality, niche etc. are maintained.

Plus a lot of shooters are not good enough to shoot a set that will sell, convert and retain well enough to sell the set 20 times over it's life time. So are left to shooting for the low money custom commands.

20 sales at $35 = $700, plus the video at $35 you are looking at $1400 for a solo ggirl masturbation video with 20 sales each. Over the leifetime of a set/video not saturating it at all and returning the right money on my investment.

Even at 10 sales each the mony still beats the custom prices being offered.

So you see the belief that sets are saturated if they are non exclusive is wrong. In one year they might get saturated, but if they did fewer content providers would be going out of business.

The webmasters we deal with prefer exclusive because it gives them assurance no one else has that set... 20 sales of a set is discusting... thats 20 sites with same content... im sorry for those who cant shoot well that their work wont convert and sell... but i cant stand the 'shopping cart' set up and all sets available to anyone to purchase... id prefer quality over quantity... its not even about the sets being 'saturated' within such and sucj period of time...its all about that BIG BOLD STATEMENT on most of the better sites where it says: NOWHERE ELSE!!!EXCLUSIVELY HERE AT ____.COM

20 sales over the size of the Internet is nothing, not even scratching the surface. Work it out how many site there are and the percentage 20 sales covers.

Of course if someone can afford to buy 3 exclusives a day of the right quality then stick to 100% exclusive. If you can't afford to spend $1,500 a day on content then mix some of it with new non exclusive. 3 new sets a day will keep most surfers happy.

The word EXCUSIVE sells, but how is the surfer to know it's 100% or 10%? Plus he does not care he wants to see a new face, not another set of the same girl on a different colour bedspread doing the same as she was doing in the previous set.

Exclusive is not count when the girl has done 10 sets for the same shooter in similar action. It's just the same girl in another set.

Put up your 1-5 excusive sets a week and then fill the gap with 5-20 non exclusive and see if the member knows the difference. Like he's going to charge back if you've given him 3 sets aand only one is exclusive, as opposed to 1 set which is exclusive.

And it's not all about;

It's all about getting his dick hard and exclusive never did that. New porn does that.

Exclusive sets are mostly good, though, exclusive GIRLS is what is the "goodie" part. The risk you will see almost an identical exclusive set of "your" girl on another site is quite big. And when that happens, the phrase "can only be seen here" loses it's meaning. If you have an exclusive girl on the other hand, well it's a different subject.

Some non-exclusive sets do really nice, and as long as they do, why would one go search for $400 sets? The day I pay $400 for ONE set, is when I can get an exclusive set of a REAL celebrity :)

Besides, who still pays $400 per set? I never seen fore than $200 each, well there is one provider, but I soon went back to the others ;)

Exclusive is nice...drawback with some of the reality sites I see is that over time the story line might get a tad boring for some of them. Same scene, different girl. Other exclusive sites, that have things changing up a bit are better. Exclusive though is expensive. A mix of both exclusive and non-exclusive is what I think is best. Have your exclusive episodes every so often but also keep putting in fresh non-exclusive content in the same niche to keep the surfers happy.

We built our business model on only using 100% exclusive back in the 90?s and we wouldn?t change a single thing we do.

But it?s really more about selling a ?personality? rather than just simply filling a site with pictures or video:

- Make a REAL connection with the surfer
- Give the surfer 100% what they are looking for
- Only let the surfer get what he is looking for on your own site
- Update 365 days a year
- UNDERSTANDING the adult business

The adult business is just like any other type of show business and there is more money to be made now than any time in the past. Excite them, give them what they want, SELL it to them properly and you will do VERY well.

Right in the article I wrote I atually said that if it's "Exclusivity" means it was the first time on that bed spread in that clothing the Eclusive part is meaningless.

When shooters started infiltrating Eastern Europe magazines were seeing a lot of new girls come onto the market. They suddenly realised that what the buyer wants is a steady flow of brand new faces. It does not matter about the location, what matters is the girl. This only changes when the girl is exceptional.

It's purely my opinion based on 27 years experience. So I've still got a bit to learn.

Agreed and if you can get and afford the exclusive route it definitely will work in the Fetish market. In fact I would imagine to get good non exclusive fetish content is very hard. Updating 365 a year must cost a fortune, few can afford it.

To many people trying to shoot something they don't understand will alway turn off the member.

Plus making it personal will always work, the surfer thinks it's a one to one thing.

I think unless you have a massive budget this is a very good reason.

Let's face it what would a surfer rather look at 10 new sets/videos he has never seen before or one exclusive set/video.

Taking into account things like niche, quality, style, etc.
