ePassporte vs. Paypal?

What are teh pros and cons of each? What do you like better?

Persius 09-19-2004 06:52 PM

paypal i like better but

most sponsors pay with epass now

u just have to go through the trouble in faxing information to get ur withdrawl limit higher

Basic_man 09-19-2004 06:52 PM

I love epassporte, but I prefer paypal !

sickkittens 09-19-2004 06:53 PM

Which one has higher fees? (Is there a monthly fee w/ ePass)?

sexeducation 09-19-2004 06:55 PM

ePassporte.com rocks ...
the vendor doesn't know the purchaser ...

once the adult community is desensitized to my RANTS epassporte.com is a recommended supplier ...

BRISK 09-19-2004 07:01 PM

I like both

GTS Mark 09-19-2004 07:12 PM

I think both have their benefits and negatives

Paypal Benefits
- mostly accepted payment format online
- lower than Epassporte in regards to processing fees
- Easier to use (IMO)

Paypal Negatives
- They don't want adult
- Fees are still high
- $500 fee if you're caught using it for casino or adult transactions

Epassporte Benefits
- They do want adult :)
- The account is offshore
- Much easier to deal with than Paypal (customer service)
- Backed by epoch
- Good looking reps Shaliza, Kimmy! :)

Epassporte Negatives
- Backed by epoch ;)
- opening an account is a pain
- limits are crappy

I hope more people pick up Epassporte so I can get rid of paypal as it's a pain in the ass to keep opening up new accounts when I get mine shut down. My customers keep demanding paypal so that is why I keep accepting it.

PayPal

plusses
- has a more user-friendly interface
- a lot of people seem to want to use it
- system for selling with a few clicks with buy now buttons instead of a paragraph explaining where to send what
- emailed receipts
- not that much difference between personal & biz accts

hideous minuses
- no adult biz
- competitors can get your mainstream acct shut down by claiming you are doing adult
- so dishonest they lost a class action suit where the class was ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS

Epassporte

plusses
- do not have the same limitations on what they can be used for
- backed by real people
- waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more honest and nonshady than pay pal

minuses
- differences between types of accts incomprehensible
- possibly need to fund biz accts with wires
- less user-friendly interface
- a lot of people have never heard of it
- supposedly there is a way to put a purchase with epass button on your site, but emails to them have not yielded that info to me

sickkittens 09-19-2004 07:22 PM

How easy is it to close (completely terminate) an account with ePassporte?

baddog 09-19-2004 07:26 PM

I don't like the $50 increments for adding funds, I don't want to have to add $100 in order to send someone $50.01

I heard something about getting charges X amount for adding so much. Is this true also?

BRISK 09-19-2004 07:37 PM

I really like the virtual visa that epassporte gives you

It increments for credit card loads, starts out at $5 and goes up from there. (Add $500 and you get a $25 load charge) Do not like that, at all

Bank loads are $2 regardless of amount (up to $500) when you transfer funds from a bank account.

BlueQuartz 09-19-2004 09:07 PM

paypal - doesnt do adult and no sponsors pay with it(well a couple still do)

despite the crap people have said about epassporte it is so fucking incredibly simple to use its insane. tick box sponsor creates account. Card arrives, use card withdraw cash - sounds easy to me! Costs you nothin to get paid from sponsors and very minimal yearly fees comparable to ANY card.

epassporte rocks!!!!!

Are you in adult?
Use eppassporte

Are you doing mainstream?

use Paypal

'nuff said.

And for the guy who said paypal is expensive, get a clue. It would be hard (if not impossible) for a small business to get a merchant account for less than the paypal fees.

BlueQuartz 09-19-2004 09:11 PM

there are better credit card facilities out there than epassporte thats for sure

if you want to worry about all that crap like fees for loading cards then why dont you work harder and get paid more by sponsors

you cant use your card ? I rather carry just the card rather than cash

epassporte is the best :)

Good thread and good feedback.

The guys at ePassporte value this kind of input a lot and respond to the needs of the biz in every way that they can,

I'm forwarding these comments on to ePassporte for consideration. Anyone with anything else feel free to contact me directly at rand @ paycom (dot) net.

i think its like $50-$100 a year to have an account with an atm card. 25 cents to send and free to recieve. then the load/unload with ach/wire fees are harder to explain , but on site..

Reak 09-20-2004 10:53 AM

epassporte all the way

Kimmykim 09-20-2004 11:34 AM

Amelia -- drop me an email and I'll get someone to help you with the ePpurchase link and buttons, that seems to be what you are describing :)

Satisfaction 09-21-2004 03:17 AM

okdesign 09-21-2004 05:34 AM
