As an affiliate, how does this idea strike you?

If you are on the pay-per-signup plan, would you like seeing how much you *could* have made on those signups if you were recurring?

In the same way, if you are on a pay-per-email or pay-per-click plan, would you like seeing your paid conversions ??

Would this entice you to switch programs if you would make more?

We probably payout more on recurring program because of the length of our rebills, however a Revshare affiliate is usually more stable than a PPS one. They don't just go where the good promotion is, they stay with what's working :2 cents:

What are your thoughts??

BradM 09-19-2004 02:51 AM

Yes. I think this idea is FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC.

I would love to see that sort of stat so I could see if I made the right choice and/or if I should change how I look at my sites, if recurring or PPS would be a better bet.

Another brilliant idea from you. Do they pay you to come up with this stuff?

Reak 09-19-2004 02:53 AM

nice.. :)

EscortBiz 09-19-2004 02:59 AM

Bad idea.

Imagine someone sees that he could have made more using recurring.

That pisses him off and he feels that he is a dumbass and in some way feels that its the sponsor's fault.

No more traffic for you

Spunky 09-19-2004 10:04 PM

Very appealing :thumbsup

would be interesting stats to see. the more stats given to me the better decisions i can make

johndoebob 09-19-2004 10:12 PM

I don't think a sponsor is really interested in showing their affiliates how much more they could've made. :2 cents:

Chris 09-19-2004 10:16 PM

it has its pro's and con's

I think if you do this your bottom line will be smaller but in the long run you will come out on top

What if you went a step further and offered them the chance to switch to whatever program they'd make more with ??

Obviously less money for the sponsor, but could mean more happy affiliates...

Yeah, speaking for ourselves we pay out more on Revshare than PPS, however Revshare affiliates are more loyal, which is worth something.

The guys with lots of traffic and lots of sign ups know what they want and if the small ones make 50 bucks more or less doesn't really matter they'll just feel bad that they didn't choose that option and if they choose it then and they make less money they might get angry :winkwink:

DatingGold 09-19-2004 11:43 PM

it would entice them or piss them off LOL

Yeah.....however how much would they love you if you paid them out based on what made them more money? :Graucho

Surely will cost the sponsor more, but at this point in time would definately be a unique method to attract and keep affiliates.

Tuna 09-19-2004 11:49 PM

sounds great. i would love to see that

fuzebox 09-19-2004 11:50 PM

So if your site has barely a one month retention, you will post this up for your affiliates to see?

No....however if our site had barely a 1-month retention, I wouldn't even bother mentioning the idea =)

EDIT: In the case of dating, retentions are usually atleast a few months though.....so this isn't an issue as it may be with some paysites.
