Easy to inflate and not that relevant in my opinion. I'd rather see the number of backlinks between 2-3 search engines to determine its size.

Alexa is useful if you're benchmarking it against 2-3 other sites in the same category, but again, the rankings can be inflated.

I have a site ranked 1,800,000 that actually does more joins a day than a site in the top 40,000. That should be an indication :)

I must have a very odd piece of spyware, or one of my anti spyware programs must have it blocked. Because for awhile now that is the only site I try to go to that just will not load for me. Just the document can not be displayed error.

Most of us here understand that the TRUE traffic volume under your control is much more complex than the "uniques" and "page views" model used by Alexa

I do find it useful, however, as a rough indicator.
