so does kick boxing, lifting weights, or jerking off, there are a bazillion things that relieve stress and tension that are less faggish than yoga. please reconsider.

I have a bunch of yoga dvd's and mostly Pilates, I used to do Pilates but can't seem to exercise regularly... I'm too lazy, and I always find an excuse like "it's too hot to exercise" or "I'm too tired"... :(

Yeah, I used to do the Mari Winsor pilates stuff, supposedly it's really good for flattening your stomach since it strengthens you core... I really need to start working out again, but I'm so unmotivated...

they finally started offering the pilates classes at my gym for free.. they were charging the members $80 for 12 sessions.

Gonna have to try the yoga and pilates... I hear its great for the bod.

Actually, a lot of professional athletes do yoga AND pilates.

Makes them less prone to injury.

i am trying to find the time to start, i hear it is great and once you start they have you and you have to continue to go!

Bikram Yoga is far from fagish. It will kick your ass I guarantee.
26 postures held for a minute or so each time, done in a 105 degree room. You will be more beat after that than any workout you've ever done in a gym.

baddog 09-18-2004 12:25 PM

My daughter includes yoga in her routine of wieghts and kick boxing. I have to say that some of that yoga stuff will kick your ass

hydro 09-18-2004 12:27 PM

I have been doing yoga for about a few months and would recomend anyone to go at least once a week. At first you'll probably want to quit depending on if you go to a beginer class or not. But after a month or so you'll get used to it and you can move up to the more advanced stuff. The view is really nice too, lots of hot fit girls stretching and bending :)

baddog 09-18-2004 12:39 PM

When my daughter was in college she asked me to tape this yoga show that we have down here, but was not available where she lived.

I will never forget one show where the instructor (a dude) was able to put both hands on the floor while in the lotus position, then using just his index fingers and thumbs, lifted his entire body off the floor, and stayed up like that for several minutes.

I was impressed, to say the least.
