you know there are people out there pissed now, lock up your bike with a lock that can be opened with a bic pen
|
Well they will get the shit sued out of them for any bikes stolen.
|
the second one is odd, he puts the pen over the key hole wiggles it then pops it open, but he's holding the top part by the pen which seems unlikely unless theres a key in the key hole keeping it on the pen.
|
is that a popular bike lock or something?

Yes, one of the most popular U locks. Plus they range from 50 - 150 bucks. |
A mate of mine got his bike stolen this very night, probably using this "exploit.
He had no idea about it. I sent him the links to the vids, and he's gonna try and claim on the insurance. Doubt he'll get anything though. |

Did the company issue a statement yet? Would be interesting what they have to say. Wonder if they will go bankrupt.

http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...8&page=1&pp=25 I've got the Kryptonite New Yorker it has normal key style locking mechanism. Hopefully im safe :uhoh |
smells like class action shit to me. lots of bikes will get jacked
because some dumbfuck engineer was too busy thinking about all the dollars he'll make with the lock, and not about if it will actually work. |
