Great White Shark At Monterey Bay Aquarium
No Great Whites have ever lived in captivity for more than 16 days because they don't eat. This one is eating so it's already looking good. Anyone in Cali might want to go check it out. Hopefully the closest you'll ever get to one.

Wahoo!!! I love that aquarium! I moved away in 2001, but might need to make that a must see top on my trip down there in November if the shark is still alive.

it's fucking cruel to keep a nomad like that couped up in a tank. :2 cents:

:(
Wild sharks don't belong in an aquarium. They belong in the ocean where they can munch on humans. |

This is cool, ill have to go check this out!

Wow i want to see it. i live in los angeles. :)

Even the last one they had in the donut tank ate but started to have problems staying upright and risked suffication. We shall see how well this one keeps. There is no real nead to keep a great white in captivity. Why not just be happy with the nurses and reef sharks that do well?

I have not been there in a long time i think ill go check that out:thumbsup

about 3 years ago I went on a great white dive where they take you out in a cage and put you in the water and chum. After about 2 hours we had a great white come up to the boat. It was about a 16 foot shark. Seeing it that close, from about 5 feet away was amazing. The thing was like a truck with teeth. Makes you realize just how small you really are.
