Just a random thought fo TGP traffic.
 

Say if you owned a TGP, would it be possible to set up a script (or cookies) on your server to detect and record the IP of a visitor that keeps coming back for free pictures only. Say after 50 or 100 visits this person is probably never gonna buy from anyone including the TGP owner. So why not just block these people completly from your site, thus cutting down junk traffic for everyone involved.

But does anyone think this would be effective.?

Any other ideas to cut junk out of the TGP traffic?

Maybe re-direct them to a page that explains that the galleys they are going to are advertisments to sell a product, and they cost people in this industry alot of $$$.

if that's the case,after a while only 2-3 people will have access to your tgp and at the end you'll have to rename it to paysite!

Thing is Ezekial, the freeloaders are still valuable to a TGP because it allows them to charge more for banner space.

LOL... Hey it's just a thought. I don't own a tgp... but if I did and I saw a couple thousand people coming in over and over. 50+ times in a month. I would just save everyone the hassle and block them.

I think it's a great idea...redirecting the freeloading traffic. It would be nice to use that traffic for your trades...send that junk traffic over to you trade partners site for fresh new traffic http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif Im sure they would have great productivity too...being they like to click around looking for free porn.

It would suck using IP's though, cuz most people still have a dialup connection, which gives a dynamic ip from the ISP.. So cookies are the one and only good choice..

Those are bookmarkers. There essential to trading traffic! They may not buy but if they click links and visiting your trades they're good to go. i.e.; if you have 15K bookmarkers that each click out to 3 link trades that 30K per day you can send out to other sites!

That is a fairly retarded idea. There are people who go to tgp's on a regular basis but still go to paysites, you get a very large variety of images at tgp's just not the quality.

So you would essential be telling them "Im sorry, you only have 50(or x amount) of chances to make me money, after that, screw you!"

Not a very good statement to be making. That would be similar to Walmart telling people that they are only allowed to browse their store 50 times, after that they will have to go somewhere else. And do you think they would do that? I dont think so.

And of course, you would have no idea if they did buy stuff and just came back to your site everyday.

If you build up trust in people, YOU are the one they may buy from. It may take them a while, and some people never will. If you wanna get rid of useless traffic - get rid of people that are not going to be approved by iBill and the like. Unfortunately - this is apparently secret information, but I think it is safe to say places were CC Fraud is high - they will not accept. Also, people that can't read english - aren't going to buy porn - unless they are really good at guessing were evrything goes.

But like others have said, these are apparently useful for link trades, but I would rather have 1 24.X.X.X than 50 211.X.X.X.

I would just figure if they kept coming back on a daily basis the don't have a membership anywhere. But like Rivux said maybe some do come to tgp for variety... but thats still just poking around for free pics.

If the product is good enough, anyone will buy. There was a time years a go when I was sure that none of my sales were coming from my surfers at sublime, but once I put that to the test, I found I was wrong. Our business is just like all others, a good product + good marketing = sales. If a guy sees something he's gotta have, he will break down and pull out the card...or get a friend to ;-)

Actually the idea is not so dumb. You can make small changes in whats presented on a page by using cookies to keep state. Even a banner or simple text change can present something different and be controlled by visits or time value. This does not even have to be server side scripted, inline java will do a simple job of this. You can even get very smart and more friendly with your pop ups using this method.

First we all spend lots of time and or money try to get more traffic and then you say NOPE i don't want you around here nomore..seems a little strange.

1. If it's good they may still buy even after having been to your site 50times or so.
2. Regulars visitors may tell their friends, where to find porn so if it's you they visit every week they will send em to ur site
( friend might buy.)

Of course we all want traffic... but good traffic. Gallery posters and freehost's want it more than a tgp owner. As SixNine said: It's good for trades with others. But not good when your paying your bandwidth fees.

A surfer could spend years sifting though all of the tgp's and their archives and never buy a thing.

I do agree with the word of mouth thing, dedicated/loyal visitors will often spread the resource around like wildfire.

you are sending out crappy freeloaders to trades and receive crappy freeloaders from trades - all you get are spinning counters (and maybe you can rent some bannerspace for a while).
you dont even get some link populatrity cause most of the tgps out there trade with cj scripts and the se´s ignore these links - looks real strange to me (or maybe i´m just too stupid for this )!

The only traffic thats shit is underage kids and those hardened freeloaders who will never part with a penny. As for the rest, its all down to what you have on offer. Guys spend weeks bouncing round the free sites and then on day bingo, they see a girl or hardcore pic that makes them very horny and the body chemistry takes over. Whats shitty to your crappy pics and poorly presented links may well work wonders in a site with fresh inviting content.

susan - thats exactly the way gallery makers can make money (i do pretty good with partnership programs that way) but i´ve seen lots of tgps that have no content at all, just 10 categories with 10 links, nine of them lead to trades and one to a gallery, plus a couple of crappy banners on their tgp page.

Actually not. There are many decent webmasters and webmistress in this business.

Though I think a script to redirect freeloaders would be useful...I dont think it would be ethical. I have become good friends with many of my trade partners, and would not want to screw them over. By sending them my shit traffic. (Foriegn, Bookmarkers)

Yes, Yes, all traffic does have potential...just some more so than others. Id rather have surfers brand new to my site than bookmarkers. However bookmarkers make up a large portion of my traffic, and allow me to make big trades. Within that trade come the fresh traffic who is more likley to buy into a program....IMO.

Two words: "Viral Marketing"... In other words: the good old word-of-mouth. People that are absolutely nuts about a link-site will come back again and again. They might not buy, but they come back. And better, they tell their friends. And THOSE might buy. Blocking the people that don't pay will be a very positive things for the sites that don't block (I know I'll never do such a thing) and furthermore, it kills a big portion of the growth though word-of-mouth...

True, they can also buy after 1 or 2 years if they're familiar with your site and frequently visitors. Why? Because a year ago might not had a CC or they were afraid to use it. And yes, there are million people that afraid to use their CC over the Internet and in some cases they have right. Even webmasters exist that don't use it hehe

What's stopping our trade partners doing the same to us? if we send them the shit traffic we could also be on the recieving end and get the shit traffic, while we send the fresh traffic.
