does SP2 console blocker mean Payouts have to drop ?
Sp2 with the loss of even more exit and enter consoles, does this mean the eventual decline of payouts, and overall traffic flow, as exit console sales on paysites drop and traffic trading dries up among the paysite owners ? Do tgps loose out due to no exit consoles, is there traffic flow to prop up tgps that comes from exits and will the loss of this show up in the coming months in the rankings on various stat services ? Is the loss of consoles as big or bigger issue as last years 1% visa love ?

Also with active x gone in sp2 will dialers and downloads become the next big victim from microsoft !
|
For sponsors relying on revenue from those kinds of items, who have poor retention, I can see their numbers dropping.
For sites with solid member retention, or sites not using consoles, activex, etc....there should be no reason to drop. Adult dating shoul ddefinately not drop :Graucho |

I think that this is a much bigger issue than most people think ! |
Or mayby e we already have seen the big drop and the effects of pop up blokers like google.
|
I normally use sponsors without consoles anyways... but ya it probably will affect everyone :(
|
sp2 blocker doesn't work 100% so the question is not valid yet..

Pop-ups sucked already anyway......

As a sponsor, we can offer, say, $50 PPS because we know our average member retention is 4 months (for example). For chargebacks, if signups are lower, chargebacks should be lower proportionally....unless you feel that traffic coming from exit consoles is generating less chargebacks than other traffic sources... |
Using the simple premise that many of the PPS guys do lower payments for no popups gives the answer away. It won't affect all sponsors by any means and revshare less than most, especially if only paying 50%, but will certainly affect most of the bigger PPS sponsors. Somehow many are going to need to recoup the money from elsewhere.

I see ConsoleFree tour payouts going up from their regulars of $20-25
traffic and sign ups will be harder to come by, look forward to more traffic grab sign up deals offered. |

I had all of my browsers change to the same CJ site on me a few days ago while looking at new sites to trade with. I cant personally find the code, but I would like to see how they do it. I typically have 7 or 8 browser windows open and on any given day one or two of them will change to someone cj site or sponsor after visiting new sites. Its not a trojan or spyware, I am not infected with anything. That will be the replacenment for popups. |

Yes there are some opportunities :) |

if sales go down in a short period of time chargebacks are coming in against the lower sales since there is a several month lag. Thats why if a company has a big drop in sales they can get in big do do with visa ! |
Surfers will still be surfing. The traffic will simply need to be directed a different way. If you can't make a left hand turn, you make three rights and end up at the same place.
:) |
Yup ! also I am wondering what it does to overall bandwidth useage on the web exit consoles eat extra bandwidth if they go bye bye all together then we should see a drop in bandwidth useage over the entire internet.
|
you want the fastclick code lars ?? or you want something better ??

Some of our merchant accounts, apply chargebacks retro-actively to the period the signup was from to avoid any such issues. Others don't do this though (most 3rd-party I know of) and would be able to be hurt bad... |

The popup on the link mentioned above, is not an exit console , its a document click function that runs a popup then returns focus to the original window so the user is not aware of the popup when the user clicks a link , it appears to not work.. I can give you a few hints on how to make this better.. the fc code has to worry more about other things that aren't as much of a concern to you or i. |

I am sure there are ways around SP2 pop blockers and there will be better ways around it but it is only a matter of time when it will totally block popups all together... I am sure it will take a good amount of time though... give it a year or so
