Being blown off the road sucks.

Ivan has made it to Tennessee. We have 50 mph winds, gusting to 70ish. My car got blown off the road, me in it, into a ditch. Hit my head on the window or the door, not positive which, but the car is fine, got it out of the ditch and home again.

My head hurts like a motherfucker, kinda dizzy and nauseous, but I'm okay. But damn, that scared the hell out of me and really sucked. :(

crockett 09-16-2004 08:33 PM

good your ok but why in the hell were you out driving while a hurricane was going on?

*edit

btw you should see a doctor because you could have gotten a concussion

Screaming 09-16-2004 08:33 PM

damn girl glad to hear you are ok, and the car, stay inside where it is somewhat safer and i hope no more happens

shermo 09-16-2004 08:33 PM

Holy shit. That sounds pretty serious. I'm glad you're OK. Be careful out there.

mary34d 09-16-2004 08:34 PM

But being blown while on the road is pretty good:thumbsup

Tala 09-16-2004 08:35 PM

It's a tropical storm now, and I had to come home from class. I was NOT going to sleep in the gym, thanks.

I've driven in worse. I just got a bad shear. At least I wasn't the guy who got rolled. His SUV looks like ass now, but he's okay.

Damn glad to see your ok, i only got blown to the right lance once. Pretty scary when theres rain and heavy wind

wyldblyss 09-16-2004 08:42 PM

Tala, please see a doctor concerning your head injury. Dizziness and nauseau are signs of a concussion. How is your vision? Do you have a headache?

If you refuse to see a doctor have someone wake you up every hour just to make sure you can be roused and know who you are.

Last year my daughter was getting off the school bus when she tripped and fell off the bus. The bus driver lunged to try and grab her without thinking.....her foot came off the brake and if it wasn't for another mother who was at the bus stop waiting for her child to get off darting out and pulling my daughter to safety, the bus would have run over her.

Anyways, she ended up with a concusion and she had the same symptoms as you. We had to wake her up every hour to check on her for the first few nights. Being it was her second concussion in the same year we weren't taking any chances (First one was a water bike accident on the water in Mexico)

Please don't take any chances.

jesus. Must you make a whorish commentary about everything? this girl had an accident and all you can think of is sexual excursions?

Have some respect. Oh wait, n/m. You need SELF respect first before being able to respect anything else.

Yep, the year of nursing school and recent update of my first aid certs had me thinking of that. However, if you think I'm going back out there, you're insane.

I'll just stay awake. I'm pretty sure I have a mild concussion, and if the winds have died down by tomorrow, I can head over to the infirmary and make sure I didn't do any permanent damage.

BitterPen 09-16-2004 08:43 PM

Just a few miles down the road from you and we are experiencing serious issues here too!! My headlight decided to go out tonight, so I was driving with my nose to the windshield in the terrential downpour!

I hope you are ok. Go to the ER for that head. Concussions are not to be played with. Oh, and have someone else drive... preferably with a 4x4 because it's gonna be a lot worse as the night goes on.

:warning

Thanks for your concern. I'm not brave enough to try to drive anymore tonight, but I have a husband who can keep me awake, since he's nocturnal.

I'll go tomorrow if the winds die down enough. I promise. :thumbsup

I'll be fine, and there's no way in hell I'm going out again, especially not in a 4x4. Those things are wind catchers.

How far down the road are you? You guys okay?
