What pagesize do you enforce for your indexes?
 

Our new designs (coming soon) will enforce a 60K rule. This is a good balance between allowing us to include nice imagery, a small flash and text, while not making the page bulky or slow.

I've seen some of our competitors having indexes upto 250K !!! That's nuts. Image optimization anyone :1orglaugh

I would think it logical that the larger your page, the more impatient surfers you lose (as do your affiliates!)

What sizes do you guys try and stick to for indexes ??

most paysites now use the long scrolling tours with tons of high quality screencaps - doesn't seem to be hurting them.

Non adult sites: 10k-30k

True...all the 'reality' type sites as well. However that may be a different market, as someone wanting to see videos may expect longer loads...

30K would be great and definately my tour and join and etc... pages will all meet that. However if I cut my index size down to that, I'd have to lose a lot of the elements....
