Can I sue the school for wrongly accusing my son of theft?
 

Am I making a big deal out of nothing? He says he cleared it up with the office but he is still banned from snack bar. I know that doesnt sound important but the label will stick with him until his name is cleared.

What should we do? I feel like going over there and yelling at them but with my temper I would probably get tossed in jail.

Can I sue Lensman for the fact that I just read this thread?

Do you feel that taking money out of the school system and reducing funds for education the right thing to do? Do you think that money is a good payment for the issues you are talking about. If it is the principle of the thing, then maybe you can sue to cause aggrivation and not take money away from the school board? Maybe sue and then give it all back or buy things for the schools and then donate it to them?

Your kid supposedly stole a candy bar from the snack bar? Other kids are stealing their favorite clothes at the mall. If reputation is so important to you, than shouldn't he already have a sterling reputation that will overpower any theft accusation?

In high school if I was accused of theft nobody would believe it. Cheating on a test? Nah, no way. Why? Because I actually had a reputation.

How old is he? I would definitely go up to the school and talk to someone about it. I am not saying your son is lying, but usually a kid can't "Clear it up" with the office... It takes an adult. Maybe he misunderstood them, and he's actually still in trouble. I would definitely go just to clear things up in your mind.

Even if he did steal something, so what?? Unless this is an ongoing thing, tell them to fuck off... repremand him yes, but don't BAN him from the snack bar... UGH! I hate schools these days. I can only imagine what my son will go through as he gets older...

Do you get pissed off when people sue schools? I seriously do. Schools are tight on money as is and then we get idiots walking in and sueing over ridiculous things. And of course they want money, but it's always the "principal". Ha, right.

If I were you I would just go talk to the princibal. My mom had to sort out a lot of BS at school. Just go in knowing that you cant flip out.

maybe if he was arrested or handcuffed in front of the whole school or expelled or something.. then maybe........

How old is your son?

It's important to be an advocate for them, but as they get older, they need to learn to take responsibility for themselves. Whether or not you intervene on his behalf should depend on his age...but I'm sure you can come to an agreement with the school either way without involving legal counsel.

no body is sueing anyone. this is just one of those times i decided to become a protective parent. the meds kicked in and i feel better now. I will go back to not paying attention and let his mother handle the kid stuff.:thumbsup

Sue for $1, letter of apology, public announcement of apology, and restitution of all your child's school privledges in small claims.

Dude when i was in school me and my friends stole lot of shit (mostly not in school, malls usually)...and your son gets blamed for stealing a snack bar! WTF IS THIS! Fuck authority man, sue those basterds.

Kids do way more worst things than, stealing a candy bar or w/e it was is nothing! :mad: :mad:
