We require additional information about your account for the following reason(s):

Sep. 15, 2004: You have received ?6,500.00 EUR (about 48,000.00 DKK) or more in total payments to your PayPal account.

If you have any trouble completing the steps, please feel free to contact Customer Service on +1-402-935-2080.

We appreciate your business and apologize for any inconvenience.

very serious.

SR 09-16-2004 06:50 AM

Got the same some time ago.
They'll close you off if you don't apply.

NickPapageorgio 09-16-2004 06:50 AM

Sounds like maybe a scam. Best bet is to just call them directly. I wouldn't reply to an email like that.

Fabuleux 09-16-2004 06:50 AM

What kind of additional information?

What information are they asking for?

Are you certain the e-mail is actually from Paypal?

Spunky 09-16-2004 06:51 AM

I would or else they might take it.That does seem like a large amount and looks like money laundering..Phone them or else risk losing it.

xxxoutsourcing 09-16-2004 06:51 AM

Been thro it already, you need to supply the info they require, you might get another note from paypal after that is complete also to set up the direct debit with your bank.

I got an epassporte account. the funny thing is that i havn't been using my pp account until recently when i had the oppertunity to pay for servers with paypal. And all the amounts is very small amounts, like 1-300$

Dagwolf 09-16-2004 07:09 AM

I hate using PayPal... I avoid it at all costs.

edit: Lately, anyway.

Is it a problem that you're not registered as a company?

Sounds to me like they just want to make certain who they're dealing with. Typical "know your customer" regulations that most banks have to comply with.

If they are not asking about information re individual transactions I would not be too concerned. Just give them what they are asking for. But make sure the info goes to Paypal not one of the scammers pretending to be Paypal. :2 cents:

Tipsy 09-16-2004 07:12 AM

Been there and done that. It was a fairly simple process and pretty painless and had no problems since.

As has been said - obviously check it is a paypal url you end up at :)

WTS_andy 09-16-2004 07:15 AM

for those of yall having trouble with paypal, have you given any thought to using ACH billing via the checking account?

i understand the ease of paypal and transfering monies, but they also charge you pretty good to do that.

id like to invite anyone who wants to make more money to check out Web Transaction Services if you are not already using us.

LKM if you have any questions.

I will do that. Thanks for your replies :glugglug

chianti 09-16-2004 07:21 AM

Very seriously. Pay pal is owned by eBay, and hey stopped processing adult transations 2 or 3 years ago. If they find that this transaction is linked to an adult transaction they will close your account and freeze your account.

You will not be able to accept payments indefinatly and you wont get your balance for up to a year.

etech 09-16-2004 07:23 AM

Ah shit,

Please fax each of the following documents:

You aren't from EU, are you?

Why can't you just provide them with the details? You have been paying your taxes on the income, right?

I am pretty sure a fax of you passport and some proof of adress is enough.

sherie 09-16-2004 07:30 AM

Why you people still insist on using PayPal for porn is beyond me. They don't want you to do it, they are going to levy fines and keep your money. Is it really worth the risk?

Don't listen to them. Just send them the following formal form letter and you will be fine....

----

Dear Turd Eating Assholes,

Do you know who I am? Apparently you don't have any idea who you are fucking with. Give me my fucking money right now or I will kidnap your children while you are sleeping and start sending you body parts in the mail until I am paid in full. I know how to make bombs and I don't like you. Just be careful when you fucking leave the office today because no one treats me like this, you sorry mother fucker.

Thank you for your time and let me know if there are any questions.

Respectfully Yours,
Yourn Name

Gynecologist 09-16-2004 07:35 AM

Oh pleae! Is everyone here a PayPal newbie or something? Paypal sends those types of notices out all the fucking time. Come on, that amount of money is pocket change, it has nothing to do with any concern of money laundering.

Just fax in your identification and in a few days you will be in the clear. My accounts have been restricted several times. All you gotta do is comply with what they ask of you.

Why "Ah shit" ?

They just want some identification to know who you are incase they come under investigation.

It doesn't sound they want to know what the money was from or anything etc.

As long as you take precautions to make sure it's paypal getting the info and not a scammer I don't see why it's such a problem to provide this info ?

Why the HELL would you take such a large sum over PAYPAL??
Not only is it illigal mate, but they have a 3k limit pr month on most accounts after the new rules......

Good god man!
Best you can hope for is that the cash will be sent back to the buyer where after he can send you a wire as he should have done from the beginning :(

Håber det går igennem uden problemer dog :)
