My first 3D artwork

Hi everyone,

I've been working on this for a little while, it still needs some work but it's almost finished.

It's done 100% in Maya 5.

Not bad at all.

We have some sick 3D animators who work for us. Check out the tour links at www.hopscybergym.com I am sure they would be more than happy with giving you any pointers in you're interested.

nice modelling man, but what i think is missing is some good lightning and work on the materials so it would look abit more realistic (if that's what you're aiming for)
textures and lightning....

if you're using 3ds max try to set the light tracer on, it would make some realistic lightning effect.

oh dude, you forgot the smoke :)

wdforty 09-16-2004 02:28 AM

Yes, realistic was the aim, but I am just a beginner :)

I don't use 3DSMax, I use Maya :thumbsup

It was part of my texturing module, I study lighting next so maybe I will learn some new lighting tricks.

wdforty 09-16-2004 05:28 AM

Spread out over a few weeks, a total of about 5 hours I guess. :)

And thanks :thumbsup

Very good modeling bro looks great.

Also about the lighting, not sure if you did this or not but make sure you only have shadows casted for one light and not two or three. Also make sure all lights are in the same vicinity and not spread around the environment. Not sure about Maya (i use 3dmax) but as soon as you have more than one light casting shadows the realism turns to pooooop.
