Yes i never understood that either. Those 3 letter names are expensive just because...they are expensive. Its crazy.

Because they can be used by companies that have a 3 word names and that will pay come and pay big bucks for your domain like ibm.com, cnn.com, nyt.com, wsj.com, aol.com etc. Besides that they are liquid on the secondary market and some get substantial traffic.

True but it has a x in it... how many companies have an x in their name :D
