Are these sites stealing images/bandwidth?

Since I can not search on this forum, I could not see if the following sites had already been discussed.

http://www.pornomotore.it/immagini/categorie.php

and

http://babes.usefulidiot.com/

All their images are hotlinked from other sites, including mine, without due credit, and I for one have not given them permission.

Would I waste my time contacting their host to demand them shut down? If all inflicted do this they might take it serious.

Likewise what about legal action, stolen bandwidth, and lost potential revenue, since they now offer our promotional pictures without our sponsor sighup links.

Sure I can add them to a .htaccess and block them out, but I have a bad experience with blocking out sites using .htaccess as it also block honest visitors and sites.

Change the image to something funny... best way to deal with hot linkers :D

Actually it is a lot of images, and most I have submitted in galleries to TGP sites, so that is not an option.

As long as the hotlinking traffic is low I don't care.Because of norton and other crap many surfers won't be able to access your site otherwise if you're using htaccess or scripts.

Sure johndoebob, but as I wrote they are not only stealing our bandwidth, but more importantly they are offering pictures we have been given to promote our sponsors with. Legally we have agreed not to display the images without our sponsors link and banner. The reason being that there are now no link for the surfer to click to the sponsor and hopefully join the sponsor's site.

At least they are not helping us, as once a surfer has grabbed all images in a promotional set, they probably won't click our a thumb for a legally posted gallery on our site, or a tgp site, thereby preventing us from making a sale to that particular surfer.
