Why not P.O. Box?

Why do some sponsors not allow P.O. boxes?

If you have our name, SSN, ect. Why can we not use our
P.O. Boxes?

whee 09-15-2004 05:17 AM

Because they are "second hand" addresses.
Second part.

Wiggles 09-15-2004 05:17 AM

alot of non-adult places don't accept them either.

In the Netherlands they are first hand addresses. Most companies use it as their primary mailing address.

xclusive 09-15-2004 05:20 AM

20 bucks for 6 months :thumbsup

All banks cannot allow PO Boxes either, due to the patriot act.

I don't have a physical address, only directions, I'm that rural. They tell me, use my rural route address then, and I do, and it is a box also, so I get shit about it either way. Fucking patriot act.

Tuna 09-15-2004 08:45 AM

which sponsors dont allow P.O. Boxes?

Giorgio_Xo 09-15-2004 08:46 AM

P.O. Boxes are okay if you call them up so that they can screen you. I have done this several times.

False. I have several bank accounts with a P.O. Box primary.

Snake Doctor 09-15-2004 08:49 AM

ALL of my sponsors send my checks to a PO BOX for me.

IF they want my physical address also they can have it.....but I get all the mail at one place.

:2 cents:

polish_aristocrat 09-15-2004 08:50 AM

Some people think PO Boxes are used often by scammers.

FilthyRob 09-15-2004 08:51 AM

Both my credit union and bank of america accounts have my PO box as the primary.

Also, every sponsor I use has my PO box. I have moved like 3 -4 times in 4 years, so the PO Box is the only way for me. Which made it even worse that I forgot to pay it and was almost closed last month!

Got to one of The UPS Stores *formerly known as Mail Boxes Etc.* and get a box there. No one will know the difference.

You get a # a regular address and you can call it a suite etc.

GatorB 09-15-2004 10:14 AM

Yeah what if you live in your car?

Most sponsors allow P.O. boxes, but there are still a few that dont. I've always thought that was a stupid rule. I never use my home address for business purposes.

Yup, my bank has my PO box, but they needed to confirm my home addy before they would take it.

And every single program I am with has my PO Box I have not run into any problems. Why would some not take them? Thats stupid! I move wayyyyy too much to be fucking changing it with all the damm programs I am with each time. ALL of my mail goes to my PO box - credit card bills, magazines - shit even mail from my family and the DMV goes there. The only real mail I get to my home is my water and electricity bills and other bills for the house.

PO boxes and stuff like that is often used by scammers and I don't see a need to use one instead of your real adress. :2 cents:

The Dawg 09-15-2004 11:05 AM

If you get a PO Box from the USPS, they require current license and a bill from home to open an account (Since 9/11). You also have to live in the area where the PO Box is also.

then you must have never moved and then be faced with changing your addy with over 100 sponsors, plus bills and all that other shit.

If a scammer is going to scam you they will do it with or without a PO Box :2 cents:

But most scammers seem to use PO boxes. If you're known or able to proof that you're a legit webmaster it shouldn't be a problem tho.
