i just got a new sub and apperently i've been playing it a little loud.

now instead of acting like a human, and knocking on my door and asking me to turn it down, he kicks his back door open, (there is a back hallway on my apt building) and screams;

"TURN THE FUCKING MUSIC DOWN ASSHOLE!!"


he doesn't even have the deceny to ask me. sorry didn't know my shit was too loud.

it's 10pm, a little late for a battle now, but tommorow during dinner i'm starting a war with my subwoofer!

fucking asshole. this wouldn't be a problem is he could have reasonably asked me to turn it down.

and for the record, the other time he freaked out about my music it was a sunday at 3pm. so it's not just the late hour.

Go over and settle it like man. Tell him that next time, he doesn't have to throw a sissy fit, he just has to knock on your door and ask you to turn it down, just like any other civilized person would do.

Put the music as loud as you can until he confronts you again. Then tell him to say please and you might just turn it down.

Your asking to get thrown out of your apt. If you read your lease , every tenant is entitled to quiet enjoyment of their apt. So its not just late at night . I cant understand people that live in apts need for big speaker systems. You dont live alone why should other people have to listen to your shit. Buy wireless headphones and you can play your music so loud your ears bleed if you want and you dont bother anyone else.

it's not a big stereo. it's a 4 inch sub for my computer. and i had the music down so low i was sitting at my desk talking on my fone he freaked out.

Bass waves get louder as they travel away from the source. At about 22 feet I think they're optimal. What doesn't sound loud and thumping to you, will sound a lot louder below/beside/above you.

And what if he just does it legal and calls the police over and over and over again and then shows the reports to your landlord? FACT: You can play that shit as loud as you want untill 10-11 pm and the cops cant do fuck all because noise laws arent in effect until that time. (differes by city/state look it up)

The only way you'll have to turn it down is if the landlord says so.

I worked with Bill and Tylo from AEOLN a while back and the (hot) chick next door would always complain about the music. The cops came over once or twice. They said nothing, and the landlord told the neighbor to either shutup, or get a house. So, we had good times. :thumbsup

Actually there are different laws that govern noise in Apartment complexes, or any stacked dwelling. Any noise that disturbs the residents regardless of time of day or night is illegal.

We just had our neighbor evicted because he wouldn't turn down his fucking bass and he kept yelling at the landlord that he wasn't doing anything wrong because he never played music at night. My landlord got the cops over in the middle of the day and that asshole was hauled off in cuffs and he was evicted the next day.

I think they were going to issue him a noise ticket but he mouthed off the them or something, he was some rich spoiled kid whos mommy and daddy were paying for his apartment for his last year of highschool.

Granted we had to call our landlord a 100 times in a two week period, but we finally got the asshat evicted. :1orglaugh


Everytime we called to complain he would complain that he didn't have his music up loud at all, so my advice to you, TURN IT THE FUCK DOWN! What may not be loud to you could be rattling pictures off the walls nextdoor.

I have a neighbor just like that,
After me complaining to the landlord a number of time,
and then beating on his door with a baseball bat at 3 am to get even,
they have decided to move out.
End of problem
I am happy, and my 3 yr old daughter can now sleep without getting woke up.
