We will have the final details tomorrow from Marriots hotels

NYC Expo (Webmasters Gathering) would be either at New York Marriott Financial Center or at New York Marriott Marquis ..

Dates : October 8th and 9th. Don't expect something as elaborated as we did in Quebec. This would be just a cool and nice Webmasters gathering. We do hope having about 250 webmasters ... We had 200 in Quebec ... :)

Seminars on Friday and Saturday afternoon. Sunday would be free for you to do some siteseeing (playing tourists). We can arrange something to rent a tour bus or something like this...

Some parties in nightclubs at night (ex BLVD and /or Remore Lounge) on Bowery street..

The guys at Mallcom are ready to do something special at the Scores (hit me up guys plz @ 139036653)

Now to decide if this is a GO or NOT and taking some financial risks we need a rough idea about how many of you would be interested. I do understand that this is a short notice... We had tons of work organising QWEBEC and New York hotels are a bit more complicated to work with, they are very very independent :winkwink:

The price for attending would be pretty cheap for New York .. Only 100 USD...

QWEBEC won't be as a big job next year and we'll get prepared a bit earlier for both QWEBEC and NYC in 2005 :)

Isn't this a little short notice? For any decent sized event, which this is somewhat decent sized, you need to give more of a heads up. I've never been to New York and would love to come, but 3 weeks notice just isn't doable.

First off, Michael....NYC is a shitty place for a convention.

Secondly, 3 weeks notice? WTF are you thinking?

Lastly...Make up your damn mind if you are gonna do this or not. Yes, I would consider attending...Even with this short notice...But I am not about to start booking flights and so forth until you can commit to a date.

Well I might go, let me know what hotel this would be at and what rates they are offering.

I had this one on my list. I thought something strange was going on when there was no info on the page. I contacted Michael right after Quebec and he said it wasnt going to happen. I guess he got lots of folks that really want this one.

I want to be there, but like everyone else I need firm info.... quickly.

Well, OK Guys..

Let's forget about New York for this year...

I just received the call from Marriott, and there is no way for them to be able to accomodate us for the week-end we wanted (october 8-9th) and the week-end after is Island Getaway, no way for us to conflict with any other event... We were waiting for them with a proposal for 2 months now...

At first (in March) we started this project with Loews Regency in New York. But it seams that more than 150 people is a bit complicated for such a small Boutique Hotel...

We were also looking for some other hotels in New York, yes they have meeting space but all the rooms are booked... So it is almost impossible for us to take arrangements with any New York hotel in such a short notice...

Meanwhile we will continue to work it out for October 2005.

Yes you are right, but the Hotels got us on hold for about 2 months and with QWEBEC coming we let them go a bit too. So in the end, we had to run after them for details... Anyway. you are absolutely right. the time is too short now, so with this lesson learned, we'll get ready way more earlier next year.. Fisrt thing after Internext, we'll beging working on it and securing the dates :)
