And what makes them better to sit with you and hear you out rather than a friend that would do it for free.

dunno ive gone to a few in the past, i always just stop going because I always feel really weird around them.

i think that I should just be myself and not just take some pill to cloud whats really going on. i know it can make things better over time though.

I don't think it'd work for me but my GF visited a shrink and she helped her out quite a lot.

Talk to your friends, their cheaper and easier to associate with :thumbsup

yeah my buddies make for cheaper talk, and there's always beer on the couch

Good ones can help in some cases because they know what questions to ask to help bring things out that you may have forgotten about.. that can be a source of problems..

Others just sit and act like they're listening, then take your money...

They are all the same as fortune tellers, complete bullshit.

You can only become happy from within yourself in your own time.

A psychiatrist can make more educated suggestions for behavioral change than the "average" person.

But keep in mind, this is how they make their living (like doctors) so if you don't want to change, they'll see you as long as you're willing to pay and you still won't get "better".
