Well, I just had the geekiest weekend I have had in ages
my boyfriend was down here for the weekend and we went out with some friends and we ended up spending most of the weekend at a convention/meet up for people that remix c64 tunes and then form bands and play this music. Most of them were German that came to the UK because their 'net radio station is very popular over here (apparently). I never in my life thought I would spend a romantic weekend dancing to a live band playing the theme from Monkey Island but it was oddly fun (if sad). There was a lot of geek humour moments which kept everything light but it is a really good thing that I am a geek groupie.
Saturday night was spent at a Gary Numan gig. That was oustanding. The man is brilliant. |
what exactly do geek groupies do?:Graucho

I wish I could find the music from "Thing on a Spring" again - what a great C64 game that was. Edit: Found it! W00T! http://www.vgmusic.com/music/compute...x-classic.html |

lol..i wish they had played the winter games one...i heard that SO many times as a kid. What was pretty cool was that some of the composers of the tunes were at the convention. I never really gave much thought to them but some of these guys were awesome musicians. |
I just downloaded the theme from Paradriod too - I think my all-time fave game EVER.

No - that's SO wrong on many levels :) I still have my C64 with the disk drive too. Belt's bust on the drive but the C64 works fine. |
