simple SE question

I have this site I am working on wich I update everyday. Its basically a blog type of thing. The mainpage has this blog on it using an iframe.

Question is is this good or bad to get it listed in de SE's or doesn't it matter that I use an Iframe.

thnx

well the question is not that simple since its about frames.
I never was a friend of frames as I had the impression it is harder for me to get good ranks.

If you don't need it, don't do it.

I can not imagine you benifiting from a blog in an iframe anyways so....

Well ok I agree, but the blog is just a part of the site not the main thing, thats why I use an iframe atm :)

mainly form a design point of view. It was the easiest way to include the php blog into the html page for me (remember I suck at most coding ;)

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by having your mainpage using an iframe to have your blog on. I'd have to see an example of what you're actually referring to to be specific but Trax is right. If you can avoid using frames, do so.

Ok for example I have the main.html wich has lots of links on 'm wich I update regulary (no tgp) in the middle of this page I use an iframe to show the blog (wich I also update daily)

Does this make more sense? :)

So the body of the main page you're saying doesn't get updated often and the iframe is the blog that gets daily updated? I don't see why you would want to do that, search engines like freshly updated content. And if the search engines only see the blog as being updated daily (versus your main page), then your blog url will benefit more than the main page.

Ok, I did it this way mainly as it was the easiest to design around. I will have the programmer look at it to do it diffrently, as these answers are actually what I expected already.

Thnx

Well, one idea you could do is just replace the iframe with a table and create a virtual include there to dump the html behind the blog into it. But if the blog is rather large and currently creates a scrollable iframe (like now), you may be better off just creating a link to the blog instead of an iframe. Or simply said, don't change anything. Frames are not evil, just not as effective as a plain html page.
