webalizer or awstats...

which one you think si better ? and why ?

BradM 09-12-2004 10:34 AM

webalizer. Because I said so

Gheenz 09-12-2004 10:35 AM

Webalizer seriously sucks...go with awstats :thumbsup

Tipsy 09-12-2004 10:35 AM

Webalizer tells you what SE terms come from each individual SE which is nice. AWS stats is better in every other area though.

Thrawn$ 09-12-2004 10:37 AM

awstats

Ice 09-12-2004 10:38 AM

awstats :thumbsup

PbG 09-12-2004 10:38 AM

We offer both on our Cpanel servers. However I find Webalizer has been more accurate than Awstats since August 2003.

aws may be more detailed but eats more CPU as well.

senseidru 09-12-2004 11:10 AM

I've run both and definately prefer awstats

Kel 09-12-2004 11:17 AM

Awstats... been a long time since i ran webalizer but I think Awstats gives you more specific info and is less of a drain on sys resources.

btw - extreme: love your sig. I had that game for the C64.... ah the good 'ol days.

The best of those two. But Urchin is way better... AWStats doesn't count about 25% of your traffic.

cosis 09-12-2004 11:42 AM

webalizer has froze up my server and a few other people i know in the past, i recommend analog :)

fr8 09-12-2004 12:47 PM

Even though you use both stats applications, they probably parse the same log file. The only possible slowdown will be when the stats get generated (once a day?), as both your stats applications must parse the log file once each. That's generally a fast process and shouldn't cause any issues as long as you set them to run at night time.

BigPinPin 09-12-2004 02:00 PM

awstats :thumbsup

dailyduke 09-12-2004 02:05 PM

I like awstats, but I use both for a more robust picture - more info more chance of getting the numbers correct

Easton 09-12-2004 02:07 PM

AWStats for sure

dunefield 09-12-2004 02:08 PM

go with awstats. :thumbsup
webalizer sucks.

ShaneRyale 09-12-2004 04:01 PM

Awstats is best. I used to use it, but now I have to use Urchin because of a much more robust and complicated network.
