Time for a design software upgrade - what should i choose?

Well i finally decided to upgrade my design software - but i just wanted to make sure im not missing out on some great program.

I'm planning to buy ADOBE CS Suite and FlashMX2004, but are there any other great programs especially for illustrations worth a try?
