PHP script 'rights' question
I just read "PHP is an Open Source product. You have access to the source code. You can use it, alter it, and redistribute it all without charge."
What stops people from scharing the scripts they buy at www.hotscripts.com if nothing legally stops them? Or what stops them from relisting the script at half price and selling someone else's work ? Just curious. I wouldnt resell somoene's shit but I would take some freebies lol. |
the language itself is open source. Not anything running under it.

the programs that programmers and developers spend their time on are not free unless their terms state its an open source script.
Thats like if I gave you a hammer for free and you built a house with it, that doesnt mean I can move into that house and say its mine. |

Say you use OPenOffice (An open source free clone of the Microsoft Office type of application) and you write a book on it. You sell that book to a publisher - just because you wrote it on a free application doesn't make the book itself free. Comprende'? |

For example if I were to tell you that this post was like how when a tech guy fixes a wire and he uses a pair of pliers instead of a non magnetic screwdriver to hook up a circuit board back to the computer case or circuit panel. You know what I mean? It just doesn't make sense. |
