Have You Ever Heard Of a "3 hour Eviction ?"

Some of my old highschool buddies are MIA and I heard they got a 3 hour eviction due to some illegal activity aka Probbably selling drugs or something.

Nope. Doesn't the sharif have to serve papers in order to legally evict someone?

Why would he serve people papers? His acting career still seems to be going strong.

Also known as the "Emergency Eviction", yes they exist. Usually happens in the case of drugs or extreme violence. Depends a lot on the state and Venue.

what? is this for being evicted out of an apartment?

TheLegacy 09-10-2004 04:10 PM

cant do it - unless he hasnt paid his rent or is doing something illegal - then hes snowing you for $$$

have him call the police and ask if thats legal

I haven't heard of a 3 hour eviction but I've heard of stupid druggie fuckups who are too stupid to know their rights.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's Drug related. I just heard it through a friend. So if your caught dealing out of your house they can evict you in 3 hours ? That doesn't sound right

warlock5 09-10-2004 05:18 PM

Doesn't sound right? How about getting arrested in 15 minutes?

PersianKitty 09-10-2004 05:31 PM

Most leases these days include a statement that any illegal activity within the premises voids the lease completely.

Doctor Dre 09-10-2004 05:46 PM

I doubt that's possible ... not in canada for sure

fr8 09-10-2004 06:48 PM

Ive never heard of that.

Tuna 09-10-2004 07:12 PM

Pennsylvania allows 3-day evictions when someone is charged with a drug offense. the law would depend on the state though

Canada has more tenant friendly laws than we do. Though ours are pretty damn friendly.

I had to evict my roommate once and it was a royal pain in the ass. Hope I never have to do it again.

What you're failing to see is how something like a false accusation could be levied in order to evict a tenant..so I highly doubt you can evict anyone in 3 hours without having to go through the proper legal channels..and even then you can if smart enough fight it long enough that you could live out almost your full lease.

Most people don't know their rights..and rights vary from state to state..but once again I highly doubt that they can do it within 3 hours.

I think a bunch of stoners just got snowed.

I'm surprised by that. I know a woman in Harrisburg who rented her home to tenants that turned into a nightmare. Severe drug addicts who neglected their children and their dog, dealing from the house, months behind on rent. They kept the dog locked in a back room where he became sick and emaciated. The entire flooring had to be replaced because the dog was never taken out to go to the bathroom. Even after replacing the flooring, it still smelled of urine for about 5 months after.

It became a nightmare legal battle for her to get them out of her home. She had to take them to court and have the judge order an eviction. Took months & a ton of money and afterwards she was left with a trashed, smelly house.
