Another ICQ solution
 

My partner was having ICQ issues like so many of you are, I sent here Smokey's suggestion, but she could not find the option he spoke of, however she did go to the main contact list options then unchecked global alerts and it immediately began working again.

You might give it a try

icq is garbage...

so is Oakland, but I don't see you moving from it

I use Trillian - works like a charm - and i havent experianced any of the problems ya all are jabbin' about in here
