What we need is to:

- grant access to a website based on a non-interactive authentication method

- there will be a list of trusted locations

- surfers will arrive with some sort of information: HTTP_REFERER, GET info etc. based on which we allow or deny access

- there mustn't be a login window

- must work with popup windows

- this has to work with static pages

- as general as possible (portable, allow firewalls etc.)

- know at all times where the surfer came from

- surfers will arrive from a trusted location; we need to know who sent them

if it's a plugin or you're allowing members of one site into others don't use HTTP_REFERER.
