A 15-year-old boy described by police as totally amazing is now in custody, accused of scamming dozens of credit card and bank customers out of tens of thousands of dollars.

Al Finger said he never knew that someone posing as him had taken over his bank and credit card accounts. But, then he noticed that someone had withdrawn $7,000 from his checking account.

The 15-year-old was even able to buy a used police car with $5,000 stolen from someone?s credit card account and was planning to pose as a detective.

Hope no one tries to steals my identity because they might not get much out of it. lol :thumbsup

But I'm curious as to how long he had been doing this? Guess he started out at 13 or got caught first at thirteen.

?He did tell us that when he was thirteen, that if the courts would have been harder on him, he wouldn't be where he was today.?

reminds me of that film with Tom Hanks an Dicaprio, that guy was also really young when he started, best bit was when he pretended to be the teacher :1orglaugh

I guess you got it, or you don't :glugglug

What's even more bizarre is that he was busted 2 years ago (at 13) for using stolen credit cards to buy stuff and all they gave him was probation. He told them when they arrested him this time if they had done more to him then, he probably wouldn't have kept doing it. :winkwink:

He got busted when he was at a store and started talking to a family friend who was a cop. He asked the cop if he wanted to see his new car (a police car he had outfitted with everything and billed to the police department for $35K :1orglaugh ). The cop knew he was only 15 so he followed him to bust him for driving illegally. When they pulled him over, they found all the fake credit cards in the car and started looking further into it.

Smart kid but he just got too cocky :thumbsup

have to admit, he didnt do it with a gun.. have to admire that when way too many kids today use violence to get what they want

Isn't it kind of sending the wrong message when the police are praising the perp?

ztik 09-10-2004 11:07 AM

exactly, the 15 year olds doing that that are "totally amazing" are the ones you dont read about, because they arent dumb enough to get caught.
